One's been a mystery for me +2 years
I don't like having to clutter forums with petty requests like these, but I'd sincerely appreciate it if I can get some identification to a number of songs that have been a mystery to me:
1. Sounds like a 60s movie soundtrack, chase scene, possibly comical. Useless guess: Henry Mancini? Just remembered: Maynard Ferguson might have had a role.
2. WAV file Titled "fareast," which doesn't make any sense. Middle Eastern style, having nothing comparable other than Ravi Shankar (VERY sure that's wrong) and Claude Chalhoub.
I'm a little OCD when it comes to getting names to songs. Could possibly even make a game out of this as I tend to go out of my way to find mainly soundtrack stuff, which sucks to ID, since there aren't any lyrics to go by for Google.
Successful detective of one song gets pie or cake. Get both, and have both.
Godspeed.

dunno how to hotlink youtube...
What I've always wanted to find was that morning music that was played in those bugs bunny or looney tunes cartoons. I remember it would show day and birds chirping and the music would be played.
No clue on the second one.
The first one... actually the Sonic the Hedgehog theme song shares that high pitched wiggle part. 17 seconds

It's a homage to Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebees

Pretty sure you're looking for Edvard Hagerup Grieg's Morning Mood. If not, then Gioacchino Rossini's William Tell Overture.

(Meaning musicbrainz is unlikely to help here.)
Anyway, truckload thanks. I'm surprised as hell that I have 1.5/3 mystery songs identifed in one day. (the .5 deals with this song, which made me mad as hell since the lyrics are clear, but I swear, they are IMPOSSIBLE to google. Finally found out that this song wasn't originally sung in English, which explained a lot)
I'm sure my gf will recognise it instantly, so I'll ask her later.
This comes on before every movie at the theater I work at, I must know.

I think it's "Ca Plane Pour Moi," covered by Presidents of the United States of America
The first one sounds awfully like the Green Hornet song by Al Hirt on the Kill Bill Soundtrack.

That's because it is. I don't know what other songs people are mistaking it for, but that first one is definitely, 100% for sure the Green Hornet theme song.
Track #8 off the Kill Bill: Vol 1 soundtrack.

So, while we're in a song identifying mood, I've been looking for one off-and-on for awhile too.
The F-Zero song at the end of Dad's Home.
It is definitely *NOT* the Minibosses, and it's probably not even the Mute City theme. If anybody knows the name of this track, and who did it, and most importantly where I can get a copy of the song, please let me know.

His myspace version uses different credits; no band name, but the title is "Endless Challenge"
Found the song though.
what is the name of the composition starting at about 30 seconds into this?

I have the song. It's by Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev, "Montagues and Capulets" from Romeo and Juliet Suite No. 2. The song length is 5:17, with the portion of your interest starting at 1:34.
Also, tried to dig up a bit more info on the Endless Challenge song. This album seems to fit the bill.
