Where Are Cameras ?

<div class="IPBDescription">Just a request to mappers</div> I'm asking myself why there's no camera yet in maps.
I explain :
In marine start, why not put useable screens that show other rooms through cameras ?
Some cameras should need to be repaired (by welders) or can be destroyed (by aliens).

    Yeah I like the idea of being able to watch from the R-R but I think it
    would get abused.
    Think about it, you might get people on Voice Comms like Roger Wilco telling
    his friends where the other team are hiding or people might use it to see
    who's losing the battle and then join the stronger team.

    It's a nice idea in general though

    There was a bug in the NSTR that mucked up the entites used to do the camera thing. I don't know if that was ever fixed.

    Ok.

    I'm currently trying to include basic cameras in my sample map.
    The camera connection needs to be weld somewhere in order to use it and the cam can be destroyed (not easily).

    The scheme is the following :

    "Monitor" ----------- x ("Weld point") ---------- "Camera"

    Not really.
    It kills if you render the cam view as a texture (thing that i think HL engine is not able).
    But if you use monitor to see, using the cam, it remains the same. So, no problem <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
