Skulks can Climb Marines

<div class="IPBDescription">and structures</div>I think it be great if skulks could climb marines and also marine structures like they can with walls.
would look great seeing two skulks climbing all over and around a HA while biting <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> and might make it easier to attack marines. instead of being limited to biting ankles - makes sense that skulk would go straight for the neck like most predators in the wild.
also it would be fun being able to leap into a group of marines and literally walk on top of them while taking out chunks from the whole group <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

as for marines, if u wanna bite their neck you need to jump first! otherwise, yeah, you just munch ankles.
it could have the potential to be annoying, especially in a large battle with several marines where your running around like crazy, as soon as you jump onto a marine you would "cling" to it like a wall, and have have to jump off again.
but your right, i'd love to see a skulk climbing all over HA biting the head, then crotch, leg, etc... maybe they could do it just for the HA? they are practially a mobile structure anyways...
the only problem i can think of, is how would the marine fight back? especially if the skulk just clings to his back and gnaws his spine??? the only idea i can think of is someone started a thread about "grappling" for marines and aliens, so marines could grab an alien and punch/knife...
Say something like "sharpened claws" allowing Skulks to puncture armor and latch onto the back of a rine for a second or something.

Imagine 3 skulks all huddled on a heavy armor with his armor scraping and flying off everywhere (a special upgrade\weapon of course).

If to be balanced marines would have to get a mid air karate kick function. Or some kind of annoing "click as fast as you can" and the winner deals the damage.

<u>Suggestions</u>: I also think that mild damage should be done to marines when skulks are climbing on them. Look at their spikes. That'd hurt.
Well it actually would solve rambos: But as far as how to make it so that you can get them off: Well not quite that but how about if you have high angular momentum it throws the skulk off? In otherwords twist and spin quickly to get them off. That way it models the natural model of what you would do if something climbed on your back: turn the hell around and be like "Arg get off my back damnit!" You also have to realize that lag would make it hard to stay on them anyways. It'd be mostly a way to bounce through the crowd. Like the ninja jumping off the guy's head to get at some objective.

What if the skulk would fall off the marine if the marine moved? This would make it possible for the marines to shrug off the skulks and attack them. xP

Yes. That's what he <i>should</i> have said if he wasn't to flame me. Of course you should take things like exploits and latency into account. But seriously, this wouldn't be easy to exploit. I'm not suggesting you should stick to them like flypaper, I'm just saying you should be able to climb models. The hive too for example, you should be able to wallwalk on the hive. And if a marine is blocking your way you can hop off him (dealing a tiny bit of damage, like point or two, just to get the pain effects, which in turn alerts the marines that something is crawling on him/her since they can't really "feel") <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I was refering to the shake/spin-to-remove-skulk suggestion as it's very easy to do a script which spins you around 10 times and then stops exactly where you were aiming. No intention to flame.

When you hear a skulk leap or jump nearby you often (always) do some kind of movement, so if the skulk cant stick if ur moveing just slightly it would be useless. I also said ACTIVE players.
what if to get the skulk off you needed to pull out the knife and slash the claws somehow

Meh. It's better to get them off another way. All skulks would have to do to kill marines would be to walk on them, make them pull out their knives, then kill them as they have to switch weapons again.
