I bought a '91 Celica and lowered the back.
I dropped some deuce with some juice on the front of my gat.
And I ain't braggin', my back end's draggin'.
I got this fresh whale tail on my lowered covered wagon.
You peeps is gettin' panic attacks
When I roll through Iraq with a sack of phat stacks
And an Ebro Sha-shack on my Cizzadalac,
And you know its hard.
I got a haunted house black light under my car.
And I'm freaking people out dawg

You my friend win at life.
Now the questions remains.
Whats under the hood?
And
Does your car sound like a lawnmower with asthma when you hit the gas? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" /> I hope not lol. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

A : Money.
and
B : A car.
Plus I think my '05 Ranger would just look retarded tricked out AND coated in mud at the same time. >_>
Though I am looking into the feasibility of doing a conversion from 2x4 to 4x4...

as for the car culture, I'm amazed how many people are out there who spend thousands or tens of thousands of dollars to soup up cars to drive on roads where the highest speed limit is like 65 mph. More power to you. As for me, I'm satisfied with a car that moves.
Is the Mustang GT taboo to car guys?
nice ride esu.
How much was the car?
Is the Mustang GT taboo to car guys?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
no, it's just one of those cars that you spend many thousands of your daddy's dollars to purchase only to realize that you can barely outperform a neon.

The Mustang is the economy 300hp car.

How can 300hp ever be "economy?" Gotta guzzle quite a lot of fuel.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
My Lexus boasts 290hp and rarely sees anything below 22mpg. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />
What do you give up when you pay $31,000 for horsepower from Ford?
- Style. Boring, cheap interior is outclassed by cars $10,000 cheaper. Obviously because of decision making by Ford. Not because they <i>had</i> to do it that way, but they did. They cobbled together "old-timey" touches like the gauges and steering wheel in an attempt to look old-fashioned-sexy, but instead, combined with garish floor mats and seats, they came up with something anachronistic and tacky.
- Drivability. The shifter is heavy and has to be shoved into gear, where it makes crunching noises. The clutch is clumsy and thick, and must be occasionally feathered with the gas before getting into each gear. Real smooth, Ford. Imagine driving like that every day and it's not surprising that there are so many automatic Mustangs on the road.
- Stability. It's outfitted with cost-cutting suspension. Ford has claimed "Mustang street-racers wanted it that way". The car shakes like Michael J Fox at 100mph. The suspension is "stiffened" in the GT version, but FFS, you have to get a little more technical than that when your rear wheels are the ones with the power. Hit a bump and the car will slip out behind you. I forgot, I guess the Mustang is made for driving in a straight line.
- And in the end? <b>Dignity</b>. The styling and profile of the car is arguably one of the most machismo-centric on the road. It's so cheesy that you can barely look at one without wondering what kind of person is driving it. What is the purpose of the Mustang? Its design and flavor is so purposeful (a sex symbol, fast, and macho, it's like the Maxim Magazine of cars... which is not always a good thing), but it doesn't have much in the way of a purpose. One thing you can say is that it's probably basically the fastest car, in a straight line, under $29,000... In that price range it's outstyled by Lexus, outcornered and outsexed by the smaller but slower Mazda RX-8, and outright humiliated in the corners by the super-specialized Nissan 350z and WRX STi. Break out of the price range just a little bit and you can start buying recent and used BMWs, my own Mitsubishi Evolution, etc.. And just 10,000 later is the Corvette. Endlessly stylish and 100hp faster than the Mustang. Classic American, classic bad***, and everything the Mustang wants to be, but isn't.
TL;DR?? <b>The Mustang is stuck in the middle: stuck between style, nostalgia, speed, performance, budget-minded construction, sex-appeal, tasteful styling, and a price limit.</b> Why didn't Ford just make the Mustang $40,000? They have their reasons, I'm sure. But they sure don't care, they're selling enough of the damn things.

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
It depends, 300 HP produced by cubic inches isn't going to be economical, 300HP produced by high rev can be.
I heart esuna, that is all.

lol that made me laugh.
Where I work we have several car shows throughout the year and thousands of people bring in their hotrods, historical cars, import tuners, domestic tuners, euro cars you name it its there.
People either haul their cars in on trailers b/c they dont w
ant to actually drive them or they just drive down in big packs like something out of the fast and the furious lol.
Some of the cars in the show are Forsa motorsport quality. Ill give it to them they are pretty hot. But Id say that the vast majority of them are teenagers with their all show no go honda civics etc
i actually talked to some guy who had a tricked out Subaru last summer. All these "need for speed" paint jobs, body kits etc.
CplDavis- Hey nice car. (It acutally did look cool)
Impreza guy- Yo.
CplDavis- Is it fast?
Impreza guy- <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" /> meh.. *sigh not really. It sucks.
CplDavis- If you dont mind me asking how much did u put into that car?
Impreza guy- A lot. About $13,000 or more. Exhaust system, lowered, tires, rims, paint, turbo kit, bla bla bla it adds up real fast.
CplDavis- So you took a $20,000 165Hp stock car, added $13,000 of improvments and it still sucks?
Impreza guy- Yea pretty much, Im trying to sell it.
CplDavis- Good luck with that. For that amount of time and money you should have just saved another 7,000 and bought a BMW 3 series coup. Which would probably do a whole lot better by itself. And it already looks bad ###### stock with no fancy body kits. (plus it doesnt sound like a loud go cart whenever you accerlate)
Impreza guy- yea I know i was young and stupid, I acutally want a BMW now but I have to get rid of this thing first.
CplDavis- Kill yourself (no I didnt say that but i wanted too.)
<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Which reminds me. I always laugh at the people who "pimp out" their Neons. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
No matter what you do to it people, its still a Neon.
Seriously im not trying to flame anyone here. If you like to customise and tune your car go for it. I personally just think that if you are gonna sink huge amounts of $$$ into something you better get something out of it. aka the Impreza failure i met last summer and people who try to make their dodge neon into a race car. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
