<div class="IPBDescription">FTW?</div>So recently I've taken to lerking,
This post mostly applies to Co, cause thats where I've used the cloaking lerk the most. I don't want to bring it into NS until I know I can pull some weight with the fella.
When I get tired of zooming around and want to slow it down a bit, I spend a point on cloak. With the advent of the cloaking meter next to the Adren bar, you can see your level of cloak.
It's possible to glide around fully cloaked! This is great cause your silent (except for ambient noises that lerk makes, unless you have silence) and if people hear your ambient noise they tend to shoot at the floor, and the walls, and not dead center which is usually where the cloaked lerk is.
I've discovered several techniques that I think should be imparted so here we go:
the 720 in midair, simple. Have decent sensitivity, A 720 will kill enough speed to get that coveted 100 percent cloak. This is usefull when "staging" outside of an area your going to enter cloaked. I flap around the map but when I know I'm going to engage marines I get that cloak meter full.
The 100% cloaked flap. This is tricky and I just discovered it. It took me about 3-5 minutes to flesh out how it worked. Basically when gliding and cloaking you come to a point where a little more speed, a little more height would be awesome. If looking horizontal is 0 degrees, it's somewhere between 20 and 45. Look up about that much, slowly take your finger off space (or whatever key +jump is bound. This will end the glide) and when you notice your lerk starting to sink down, Hit space one and hold. You should have flapped once, gained more height then you lost, got a little more speed, AND REMAINED 100% CLOAKED.
It's crucial to let the lerk sink a bit, cause when you flap you get to much speed and wind up un cloaking, but if your falling downward, the flap has to stop the fall, and then give you some speed. If you just stall out as a gliding cloaked lerk, the flap at 0 degrees you shoot forward and uncloak due to speed.
Anyways, I hope you have fun trying something new. Be sure to chuckle when gliding up behind marines. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/lerk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::lerk::" border="0" alt="lerk.gif" />

(And on a second note, how can you disable the MT and SoF upgrades in combat? Server side?)
sounds interesting. could you add a demo or a short video about how you do it ingame?

Rofl! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Well that would be pretty stupid, considering that in all my eperience I have never been able to glide fully cloaked (exept in the region of SC).
Now I can glide around an entire map without the need of any 'flaps', if I can drop off a ledge.
Once outside of the vacinity of SC, I become only half-cloaked.. In game 'NS', I would much prefer FOCUS. But then again, I'm a team player, aren't interested in how many frags I get (what you randoms think). <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tsa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::tsa::" border="0" alt="tsa.gif" />
