So I was searching through the forums and found that most of my posts can't even be found anymore. I attempted to find some topics from a while ago (3+ years ago), for the sake of nostalgia or just for laughs, and came up with a few interesting ones:

For the people that don't remember, Shampoo was regarded to be the best (or one of the best) players for a considerable amount of time in prehistoric NS. Last time I saw him in action was back in closed beta-testing of NS 3.0.

This was back in the days when Yumosis killed a whole bunch of hiding skulks (from the evil clan, I think? correct me if I'm wrong), which started a lot of hackusations. This led to somebody getting a video of him supposedly tracking a skulk through the wall at PSJ back in the old Eclipse (when you could shoot PSJ from the corridor outside that leads to marine start). He was banned from CAL because of suspected "spiked models", or something along those lines, spawning a bunch of drama on the forums.

This is apparently what Romano used to enjoy doing when he was still a pub newbie. If you do not know, Romano became a star competitive player (notably in pandas and sYn, I think) and later a playtester. Also the bearer of many hackusations.

For those who look back at 1.04 with nostalgia, this is one of the features to discourage you. There's also PSHB, but that's another story.

    Nice collection there, certainly not complete but a cool glimpse into the past. Its a pity that the yumosis thread is locked because as i was reading it i felt a need to chime in but oh well.

    Yes, I feel that there's a lack of awareness about the past on these forums. The past holds a lot of details about how this game and community got to where they are right now. And yet, there's a strange feeling that the community has no past - it exists in the present without any foundation. I only remember a small fraction of what happened.

    I wanted to say something about the Mosis thread too. Having been a CAL admin myself, I can see that the situation was heated to say the least. I wish I could see the demo footage that led to him being banned.

    The member name in the search will make it show only threads they started. i'm not sure why they removed the ability to view all posts made by someone in their profile.

    I saw the footage a few months ago (unfortunately I deleted it), and I can say there is no way he would be banned by today's standards.

    Database optimizaton, the queries would take too long time so the server would stop responding (all server-side scripts stop running after 30 seconds if they arent finished).

    I don't know if the cri ftp is still up, but I believe that's where I got the videos from. So if you can find someone with access to that, you should be able to get them.
