Flayra at GDC

For those that did not know, Flayra will be speaking at GDC this year (or basically in a few days). Also, Shigeru Miyamoto and Phil Harrison will both be there. I had a chance to go this year with my school but turned it down (Only thing more "cool" then going to GDC is keeping my perfect attendance in college lol).

    You turned down a chance to go to the GDC (and see Flayra speak) so you could keep a 100% attendance record at college? Idiot. Do you have any idea how many people would jump at the chance you were given? Typical...

    I wouldn't jump at the chance unless you want a list of design decisions he probably shouldn't have made. If he has the opportunity for a 100% attendance record then he may as well go for it.

    I don't understand, what are the extrinsic benefits of getting 100% attendance?

    Damn exoity, I wish I could go but it is so far from where I am and I can't afford the time. And all so you could have perfect attendance? -_-

    Better yet, what are the intrinsic benefits of getting 100% attendance?

    Nothing in particular since they dont take attendance in college? Just bring your text/homework with you and speak with the professors before hand so that you know what material you should cover.

    Actually, even though most colleges say they do not take attendance when you finish you do get a certificate. I know my college (Full Sail) and NJIT does it (or use to).

    Some of us have little goals, one of mine just happens to not be a slacker in college.

    I can respect wanting to keep a good attendance record, good on you for sticking to your goals <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    No, see, goals are bad if they give you absolutely no benefit and you give up cool stuff to achieve them.

    It isn't slacking, its going to something you find interesting then doing the work at a later point. If you're so determined to be a good student, then put off the work for a day (or however long it runs) and then do it when you come back. A slacker would take the week off, blame it on GDC, and then never turn the work in.

    I was thinking that. I was just offering my two cents. >.>;
