If anybody has working links to, or copies of, the high-poly pistol and LMG by authors unknown (RSX?) or any other finished high-poly content please send me a PM and I'll get it sorted out ASAP.

SJ, you're a bloody genius. I would most definately approve of seeing a high poly pack (With or without HP hands).
currently its 1400 tris, original was around 900 for those interested.

Can I ask, though - why does it still have octagonal holes in the stock? Why not rounder holes?
For that matter (and not that I'm complaining about it), but can someone tell me if there's a good reason that a shotgun would have holes in the frame of a collapsible stock?
2) Because it saves weight with very little loss of structural strength.

I'd love to help out with a high poly pack but my PC is vidcardless right now so any 3d programs get untolerably slow.
added a bit of detail to the shotgun, tempted to add some more geometry to the rear of the receiver but the original doesnt really have anything there except some screws and ridges, and im not modelling all that crap for a HL1 model.
i think im just gonna model the grip, touch up and then unwrap, not a lot more to do as far as i can see

sorry to spoil you're fun but..... the models poly-count is WAY to high for ns1 right?

The half life engine (gold src) can handle more polys than you can imagine.
wont the models high poly-count be to high for ns1?

No, it'll be fine. There's no poly limit built into the HL1 engine, it's just that the primitive lighting and shadowing make it not worth the time to build in too many details. There were also reports of HL crashing with BlackPanther's (now unavailable) high poly models, but AFAIK, it could never be tracked down reliably.

I already did this the Colt Pathfinder for NS...anyone interested in seeing it? I figured I'd ask before the flame.

What?
What?

The default NS knife is called the Pathfinder by Colt. I have already done that knife model last month with high poly light and heavy arms.

I HIGHLY doubt that.
The resemblance is uncanny.
Huh. Indeed it is.
Shown here is the Knife v_model with my new NS arms in both Light and Heavy:

A few crits on the hands, as long as I'm posting:
1) I'm not used to seeing the TSA logo in those colors.
2) For something that's going to be on screen as much as a pair of hands, it would be nice if they were higher res.
3) The Heavy arms actually have a separate plate, a piece of armor that sheilds that back of the hands over the first knuckles, and isn't actually attached to the hands. I see that your hands have that sort of plating that the originals have, but it's attached to the back of the hands.
To all the other stuff about the armor, I know how the armor is suspossed to look but, it's a CS:S to NS conversion. The hands are as high-res as I could get them to look at 768x384 for milkshape and they look high-res ingame but, you don't get the bumpmap and phong like in CS:S.
