nope. Didn't get that far in gaiden because it was a friend's and not mine but I was fairly unimpressed with what I saw :/
It didn't feel cheap or anything but... I dunno. I didn't feel like I was being challenged, more like I was fighting the camera rather than the bosses.

I am so psyched about 300 it's not even funny. Since I first saw the trailer I ... have no words to describe how... <i>arousing</i> it was on a deeply primal level.
I will be standing up in the theatre cheering when I go to see 300, however I may frighten the other patrons because I shall be standing up and cheering from the moment the coming attractions roll to the time when the cleaning man comes in to take away all the crushed popcorn.

Gates of Fire is my favorite book and at first when I heard about 300 I thought the same thing, but I think gates of fire would be extremely hard to do as a movie. You would probably have to make some profound chances to the story and change(maybe even get rid of) Xeones' character entirely since he basically is a narrator. Still I would love to see it since its rather accurate about the events.
I'm pumped for 300 though, Ive already gotten over my problems with it not being historically accurate just because it seems so bad***, artistic freedom for the win.
I am SO freaking glad 300 comes out before I go out of the country for a month. On the other hand GoWII comes out before I leave, and that makes me so very sad <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
