<div class="IPBDescription">300 & God of War II Baby!</div>Both of these have been on my "bated breath" list. God of War 2 has already gotten some of the <a href="http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/932295.asp" target="_blank">best action game ratings ever</a>, and 300 got a perfect 5 from IGN films, and from the comic media is being called a return to great moviemaking, and "a writhing mass of violence".
I'm confident both will be amazing. And damn, do I want to just completely engross myself in both. God of War was so good that, Devil May Cry 3, got sold back the same day I bought it just because the 5 minutes I played God of War was enough to know I made a bad decision. And Frank Miller's <i>300</i> graphic novel was a masterpiece that, if I could, I'd get several pages framed.
Who else is totally paying money for both of these?

But i still prefer devil may cry over GOW <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
And 300 looks very nice, i saw the first trailer in december and was very exited after that.
I did beat God of War. And I did beat Devil May Cry, which I rank a notch above God of War in difficult. God of War was hard, but manageable. Devil May Cry was harder, but I saw it through and felt pretty good about it in the end. I went back to it a couple of months later and found that my skills were already so rusty again that there was no point in trying again, so Devil May Cry has been shelved indefinitely (and probably forever).
I haven't bought or played Devil May Cry 3 (number two got so poor reviews that I didn't bother). I don't intend to, because I've heard stories about the difficulty. It saddens me a bit because combat in Devil May Cry was cool and stylish and Dante oozed flair, but that's just how it is. I think this is better for my blood pressure, in the end.
And sadly, God of War 2 will go the same way. Again, I've heard about the daunting difficulty. And then there's the swinging puzzles, which I've heard are pretty frustrating. Some of the jumping puzzles in God of War were very difficult (if a jumping puzzle takes roughly twenty tries to get through, it's poorly designed). In short, while I'd like to see the game through, I doubt I can. And if I can, I've probably grown sick of it before the end.
Okay, so I'm a wuss. But I like to be able to complete games with a minimum amount of frustration-induced banging my head into the wall. And I get frustrated easily, and sit right next to a wall when playing my PS2. I just don't think it's healthy. I don't play, say, Ninja Gaiden for this particular reason. Not that I think I'm losing out, I've never heard anyone speak of Ninja Gaiden's plot. Knowing Tecmo, it's forgettable. I don't play Guitar Hero above medium difficulty (although I'm not ruling out the option of going there eventually) because the songs sound the same anyway.

I rush through most games on easy mode first tbh, then after a while I'll go "normal now, I'll do hard after this time". There never is a third time, I'm bored of the game after that.
On another note: WHY did they make it ps2? :/ Not that I'm buying a PS3 but err...why? Also: I own both DMC3 and GoW, and I prefer DMC3 >_>

I got ###### with DMC3 when it said "Easy mode unlocked" after getting killed 20 times by the second boss. Havn't played since.
Otherwise iam totaly psyched over 300 and im on the verge to get a PS2 just for a handfull of PS2 games (inc GoW2, seriously, fighting a titan and breaking necks on griffins?, awesomesauce)
I like GoW but it WAS very hard, even on 'normal' mode. The last guy made me want to scream. GoW2 will probably be awesome, but I'll wait til it gets cheaper to buy it, as I do with almost all games <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
Anyway... I've been looking forward to 300 since I first heard about it. It's going to be the sht, no doubt about it. If you want to get psyched up, watch these:
Frank Miller's "300" Video Diary: <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=zerlnZuEn3s" target="_blank">1</a> <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=een5D_G8FzY" target="_blank">2</a> <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=w6Eyg32W4aE" target="_blank">3</a> <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=fwiFrAlAljM" target="_blank">4</a> <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=R79c7Yuw2qo" target="_blank">5</a>
The physical training diary is easily my favorite. I'm a huge fan of HIIT and raw, no-fluff, no-cables, no-seats, balls-to-the-wall fitness.
I want to play God of War 2 sooo bad. I only own a PC though.

Same, sadly enough though this game makes me want to go out and buy one lol
God of War was hard, but manageable.

What? GoW was one of the easier console games I've actually completed.
Devil May Cry was like... infinitely harder. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />
<b>Edit:</b> Oops, forgot what I originally came into this thread to do: pee my pants in excitement over 300.
I played Ninja Gaiden Black like a religion. One of the best games ever. I loved letting people "try" and just handing them the controller, and watching their faces as they were torn to shreds in a matter of seconds.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yea, Ninja Gaiden is one of those games that relies on your own ability to actually play the game; it's hard if you don't know what you're doing, or if you screw up, but otherwise it's not particularily difficult (except Alma is a bit based on luck). It's essentially a translation of old style NES/SNES/Genesis gaming to 3D überness...There's not much story, but who played Mario or Sonic for the story? It's all about beating up giant (...freaking huge) bone dragons and fire dragons and floaty evil samurai. I wish my Xbox still worked properly so I could use the Master Ninja Tournament, because the Bo staff sounds awesome <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> .
...300 looks like an interesting movie and all, but I specifically appreciate the historical aspect of historically-based movies, so I'm kind of put off by the cartoony looking arrows and the lack of a phalanx formation and pushing Nubians down wells. That's not to say it wont be a good movie, but it does detract from my enjoyment of it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> .

Its based off a Frank Miller graphic novel. Comon now.

I know, but I like history more than I like graphic novels, despite the awesomeness of Sin City.
And Zig: History is awesome <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> . The Spartan's last stand at Thermopylae needs no embellishments to be awesome.

imagine how happy those guys wives/girlfriends are. these guys got paid to get into the best shape of their life and be in an awsome movie.

And not be at home for months or more!
Wasn't Top Gun supposed to be the manliest movie ever?

But this... is... SPARTA!!

I'd forgotten about that.
Push the nubian down the well... so my country can be free!
nice new avatar/sig Zig =p Cake ftw. saw them in back in <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unlimited_Sunshine_Tour" target="_blank">2002</a>. great show. I don't know where I was going with this though... so I'll shut up before I ramble.

If that puts you off, you probably won't like the giant fat man with two knives for hands or any of the other weird stuff in the trailers that certainly wasn't entirely present in real life.
(no, thats all I want to contribute)

I didn't know stick had swords for arms.
YAHTZEE!
Concerning God of War, it was fun but had utterly frustrating moments. I was cursing like a wounded sailor when it popped up asking if I wanted to lower the difficulty as I died on a stupid jumping puzzle for the 20th time, especially as I'd never really died in combat at all and the difficulty level doesn't affect the puzzles ><
The final boss was also cheap as heck. I like boss fights normally but handicapping you with a crud weapon like that and giving the boss a massively damaging attack that has no warning on it at all like that was stupid.
"Oh I feel like taking 3/4 of your HP now". Because of the way it's done you have to get close to hurt him and the only way to avoid the 'uber combo of mass rape' is to not be near him... ever :/
I've never had a boss I felt I've defeated by pure luck before but thanks to GoW I can now grudgingly tick that box ¬.¬
Oh and don't get me started on the section before you fight him in gimp mode... I HATE defending NPCs. <b>HATE!!!</b>
