    An advantage like being a slow-moving target because you're in plain view and can't (with any noticeable degree of speed increase, i know how to wallhop) bhop?

    For anyone who thinks that the view change is a good idea:

    <a href="http://www.fileplanet.com/164149/160000/fileinfo/Tremulous" target="_blank">http://www.fileplanet.com/164149/160000/fileinfo/Tremulous</a>

    Download that, join a server, join the alien team, press the wall walk button(x?) and try to run on the ceiling. It's the most annoying thing ever.

    You're right. The rotating view in Tremulous is badly implemented.
    But keep in mind that Tremulous, as a whole game, is really poor compared to NS. In fact it's nowhere near NS quality-wise.

    So I still think, that the NS team would be able to find a solution for the rotating view that would work well.

    damn straight. i cant believe Tremulous has won ModDB.com's "Standalone Game of the Year" contest.

    i've never played AvP 2, how does its wall walking differ from tremulous?

    Ok, the mod Dystopia for source has some viewpoint rotations and such when one is hacking computers. It is a neat concept, but it tends to get really annoying after a bit. Just think, if you accidently run into a wall you will change viewpoints. One will probably throw-up all over their computer and then sue Unknown Worlds for causing them to break their computer. Which Unknown Worlds will probably win the case and then the player will be broke. Meaning he cannot pay for his internet bill. And to make a long story short: he will not be able to play NS or NS2 anymore.

    That's a load of crap, to be honest. I keep hearing this excuse "because people will get sick" but I've NEVER EVER heard ANYONE get motion sick by playing a video game, save for that one odd topic some time ago on these forums.

    Hell, I played AvP2 actively for 5 years and NEVER heard of such an occasion.

    I'll repeat what I said before: I will assume by default that NS2 will have rotating view untill a devoloper SPECIFICALLY says there will NOT be a rotating view for Skulks.

    my vote is:

    Rotate 90' degrees <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skulk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::skulk::" border="0" alt="skulk.gif" /> Skulk in walls, and 180' on upside-down.

    LERK <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/lerk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::lerk::" border="0" alt="lerk.gif" /> if Flying , and cornering, 45-60' degrees rotate the wiev point.

    marines <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/marine.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::marine::" border="0" alt="marine.gif" /> 90 FOV
    Different aliens <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pudgy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::gorge::" border="0" alt="pudgy.gif" /> different FOV (not 90, more ++ )

    Onos FOV: 1*!!! WOOOO!!! 270? who knows

    Yeah, different FOVs would be good for the different animals. eg: Larger one for the Onos and Gorge. Narrower for the skulk and fade. and something really crazy for the Lerk.

    Motion sickness generally doesn't disappear if you've played the game for a while. It may take a really long time...
