you were involved in that googlebomb?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
No, I helped fix it! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
honestly either way would have been GJ, that particular googlebomb has always been quite funny.
(It used to find nothing and say 'Did you mean French Military Defeats?')
gj moultano :> is google as awesome to work for as everyone says? wish I had the skillz to get a job there.
I think that was just a photoshop and not a real googlebomb, but it was still funny <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Nope, it actually worked, tried it before. D : (Don't remember if it gave no results, but it did do the 'did you mean french military defeats?' bit. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />)
You have to hit the "I'm feelin' lucky!" button to get the defeats.
Are you talking about the site info and stuff? That pops up when you put the cursor over the picture.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Thats no excuse for it not being there at all times. Hunting to figure out which images are hiding a 'view more results' link is a pain.

Yeah, sadly it doesn't work as well anymore since google has since changed their site layout/style.
1. Hidden information in image searches (it's a pain to mosue over every picture to find out what resolution they are/where they're from/etc.)
2. Add an option on video searches to exclude YouTube and GoogleVideo...because just because it's a Google-based company, doesn't mean my videos should be limited to it.
...Also, stop cluttering up www.google.com by asking me to install your google toolbar, it's not going to happen, stop bugging me about it once a week/month/whatever <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> . Thank you for your time <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
And woot for searches that correlate better to relevance!

Thanks. It really is awesome. I think this might be one of the few corporate jobs I could have gotten that has kept me learning at a decent rate. About 3/4ths of the people around me have PhDs.

Nice work Moultano. I remember the thread of you getting the job. What do you use your 20 percent time or whatnot for?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Unfortunately I can't really talk about it. That's the one downside to working at Google. It's a very secretive company, mostly I think because they are so open internally with all of their information. There are only like 2-3 people between me and the CEO. All I'll say about my project is that it's a little system that kicks a couple hundred egregious spammers out of our results every week.

Since there's absolutely no "suggestions" page on the google webpage (unless it's really buried in there), I'm going to bring someing irrelevant and most likely pointless into this thread. Please ask your superiors to address two things:
1. Hidden information in image searches (it's a pain to mosue over every picture to find out what resolution they are/where they're from/etc.)
2. Add an option on video searches to exclude YouTube and GoogleVideo...because just because it's a Google-based company, doesn't mean my videos should be limited to it.

I think there is an email address like that somewhere, but you might have to google for it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
