<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxSdKF5Fd38&mode=related&search=" target="_blank">youtube</a>

Whats inside the tube:

1. Gravity Gun (Half-Life 2)
2. Red Turtle Shells (Mario kart)
3. BFG9000 (Doom 1/2)
4. The Ice Beam (Metroid NES)
5. The Energy Sword (Halo 2)
6. The Laptop Gun (Perfect Dark)
7. The Railgun (Quake 2)
8. Spreadgun (Contra)
9. The Chainsaw (original series Doom 1/2)
10. Cerebural Board (Turok)

----------

I think the BFG9000 should be number one though and the gravity gun doesn't even have a place on this list. Well not the one they shown in the tube, the second version (blue light) could be number one though... Also I still think the Rocket launcher is better then the Railgun of Quake 2...

----------

Do you agree with the list and if not, feel free to post your own list <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

I would personally say the missile launcher from Starship Troopers FPS is at least the nr1 in fps destruction. However most ppl hated the game so I doubt many got around long enough to achieve the weapon.

It had extreme kill range, I'd say about 200-300m from the blast point, wipeing ANYTHING out, tankers, those big arty bugs, hundreds of warriors, including yourself. Most intense weapon I've ever weilded.

From the same game I also liked the rocket launcher very much, it packed IIRC 75 rockets and as you held fire down the RoF increased to a rediculous amount.

Regarding popular games; sure the list looks fine but they should have nailed at least one Unreal Tournment weapon preferably the redeemer, flakgun or six loaded rocket launcher.

I second that the redeemer should be on there somewhere, that thing was hella fun.

Im surprised people actually thought of putting the cerebural boar on there, that thing was alot of fun when playing against friends in rage wars.

    1. "fat" mode in Metal Slug
    2. Heavy Machine Gun in Metal Slug
    3. RAWKIT LAWNCHAIR! in Metal Slug

I think the Gauss Gun and Gluon Gun from HL1 in multiplayer are also very awesome weapons. Especially if you've seen them in the hands of a gamer god. I'm talking about a person who levels the playing field with 10 other pretty skilled players in a 1 vs 10 match. And also is able to play blindfolded in a 1 vs 1 game and still win easily <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

I've seen it once on a LAN party and he's just, going UT here, unstopable/godlike. Well let's just say those two weapons take on a whole new meaning of destructive power when used by him...

Gloun? You mean the the weapon which sounds like a vacumer when fireing the beam?
Yep seen him or someone similiar, jumping around with gauss gun hitting all the ammo and powerups instantly while twitch shooting anything moving at any speed. I dont wanna know how much dedication and time that takes to achieve.

I believe the BFG should be #1 too. That thing was classic.

also concur that the Redeemer should be on there. One of my favorite mods for UT was Strangelove, that let you ride the redeemer <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> I totally want to reinstall that right now...

the gravity gun succeeds only at being the most overhyped gimmick of all time. Woo, I can shoot crates at people.

Duke Nukem also had a nice variety of weapons. With the Shrinker, Expander and the Devastator being the more potent ones I think

I think the cerebal bore should be higher on the list. Man, I loved Turok 2. The gravity gun doesn't deserve to be #1. It was good, but it just doesn't seem as fun as other weapons in other games when I look back.

I definitely agree that UT series should have at least one weapon up there (probably the flak cannon although the link gun is quite strategic with the link-up). They were so influential in weapon designs.

And the BFG probably should be #1 like others have said. I'm also surprised that the railgun isn't higher up since it has to be one of the most recognized classic weapons on the list. I think it should be higher now that I think about it. I had so much fun playing Quake 2 on a LAN in school. Good times.

That list is bunk; the Fusion Canon isn't even on the list. Red Turtle Shells, the BFG9000, the Ice Beam, and the Energy Sword suck.

The Grenade Launcher from Kingpin (such a overpowered weapon)

They should replace to energy sword with the pistol from Halo 1. The good days of being able to snipe somebody with a handgun.

    WSTE-M5 Combat Shotgun

While going through some data I appropriated from the Marathon (looking for design notes, of course) I stumbled across a reference to a weapon used by Imperialist forces against the inserectionists during the Ares Raid; July 14, 2444. (Never heard of it? I'm not surprised!) Many years of loving craftmanship went into the design and construction of this brutal tool of mayhem, I hope you can appreciate that. I won't waste my time trying to explain the loading mechanism to you - your primitive mind could never grasp its complex nature.

Thumbs up for the XCOM blaster launcher. There's nothing like guiding a rocket around a corner, through a door, and up a flight of stairs just to waste some unsuspecting Floater.

They have the ice beam from metroid, but no screw attack. Awww, c'mon, screw attack is awesome, and you know it. I don't know about the BFG9000 being on there either. It's just some fire and forget weapon, and really not all that special. Aside from that, I'm glad they had the cerebral bore, and you guys need to quit ragging on the Gravity gun <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> .

    You guys are crazy.

Contra's spread gun should be number 1.

The other weapons, you switched around. But once you get spread gun, all of you (and you knew it) ignore every thing else.

The thing is, the list means the top(popular) ten games' top ten weapons. Not the overall top ten weapons in games.

So why're Turok 2 and Halo 2 up there? Turok can't be beat by it's sequels.

Disappointed not seeing the Redeemer there. While it's just technically a controllable BFG, it is one of the most fun weapons I've used in any game. It sure beats the stupid chainsaw :\

I didn't really mean top ten overall. I mean games everyone hears about/knows they exist.
