Thats not true: Dante wrote a whole 3-book series describing Hell, Purgatory, and then Heaven, each in detail. We just quote the Inferno a lot more often than the Paradisio-- I guess because we're vindictive and like imagining other people being punished or something. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />

This place is furthest removed from the source of all light and warmth. Sinners here are frozen deep in the ice, faces out, eyes and mouths frozen shut. I always like mythology about heaven and hell, hell specifically. Mostly because of the imagry and detail used to describe it. Very wicked stuff.
