is it possible to add 3rd person alien play as alien play at 1900 x 1200 in the old HL engine doesnt display right making it harder to play because the alien skulk for example takes up 50% of the screen

I wouldn't mind seeing a 3rd person viewpoint for a skulk. I think it would sorta make sense as if they have sharper senses than humans. Other aliens should not have it though.
a few of my friends get motion sickness when playing first person shooters, even playing racing games with the in car view makes em feel bad. its just something about the way the view scrolls, it makes their eyes hurt, gives them headaches and nausea, they can only play games that have the 3rd person view. wierd.
for this reason alone i can sort of think of allowing it into NS, it could have the potential to draw more players that would be unable to play it any other way. but the NS experience just wouldnt be the same.
as mentioned before, people could see around corners, it would ruin the game instantly. i dont think the dev's should waste their time with it.

This doesnt even come CLOSE to 'ruining the game instantly' Motion tracking, SoF... let you see THROUGH WALLS...So I'm not seeing looking around corners as a terribly thing, You really wouldn't even want a 3rd person view for anything but skulks. I think it would make the rest of the classes harder to play.

I'll also remind everyone that, other games and mods like the Specialists for hl1, has a 3rd person view, but you can't see other players until they are actually in your model's view, so this stops people looking around corners (cause other players don't appear)
But with SoF and MT, you don't know WHAT the blip on the screen is. (is that thing coming at the marines a skulk? Or is it an ono? And that red circle, is that an lmg'ed light marine, or a hmg-armed heavy?)
And in TS, I can still see things in 3rd view that I wouldnt see in 1st. Try ducking behind a box in 1st person, then switch to 3rd, and watch the players.
An MMOFPS called Planetside installed 3rd person view and has had it since day one. There are arguments on whether to remove it or not, but it definately changed the game, and gave rise to "corner camping" where players with short range weapons would sit in wait behind corners then leap out and drop other player's pants. I don't want this happening to NS.

skulks already do that though, you sit there and listen with your headphones, the positional sound is good enough so that you can tell when they are just about to pop out. i guess a 3rd person view would aid that though. but i've always thought that skulks would have an extra sense for that kind of thing anyway.

This isn't a good idea. 3rd person for skulks isn't neccesary. Being able to hear marines is good enough, and seeing what weapon the enemy has before leaping into combat is a huge advantage. Not a good idea, especially since you would be able to also probably look down from vents, etc from upside down...
