<div class="IPBDescription">damed steam</div>Hello everyone,
I've got a big problem, everytime i try to start NS via steam, it always gives me a message like: Natural Selection is currently unavailable, please try again later. I tried to reinstall steam, halflife and Natural selection, but nothing.
It also happened that the steam.exe disappeared, after trying to launch ns.
All other games work fine, so where could be the problem???
Thank you

When you uninstalled steam, did you make sure to delete everything related to it?

    Hello,
    i have the same problem.

Start NS 3.1 -> Game currently unavailable

Tried this fix from Valve Support Forums <a href="http://support.steampowered.com/cgi-bin/steampowered.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=80&p_created=1092609531&p_sid=lm6LaTqi&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MTMwJnBfcHJvZHM9OCZwX2NhdHM9JnBfcHY9MS44OzIudTAmcF9jdj0mcF9zZWFyY2hfdHlwZT1hbnN3ZXJzLnNlYXJjaF9ubCZwX3BhZ2U9MQ**&p_li=&p_topview=1" target="_blank">FIX</a>

    Installed NS 3.2b

    Start NS 3.2b -> RUNS
Start NS 3.1 -> Game currently unavailable
Start NS 3.2b again -> Game currently unavailable

    -------------------------

    Deinstalled properly all NS content.
Tried that Valve fix again (delete everything except Steam.exe & Steam Apps Folder -> start Steam -> updates procedure -> reenter Login)

    Startet HL -> RUNS
Installed NS 3.1 Full ( new File. Downloaded from another mirror!)
Start NS 3.1 -> Game currently unavailable

    I´m through.
I dont know what to do.
    Please help !

i know the clientblob thing worked with me once. (the entire community suffered then by the same prob)
Dunno what could be extra causing it. except for this..:

    C:\Program Files\Steam\errorlogs
    C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamLogs
    C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\dcdemeijer@home.nl\half-life\errorlogs

and if the game runs, run it with "developer 1 or developer 2" and with "condebug 1" to create a qconsole.log file with loads of spam.. uhm.. info. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />

You mean the ClientRegistry.blob file right?
If I do this, It gives an error after updating itself.
Error: Delete of old/friends.dll failed. Dont know the exact filename. I tried to delete this file myself but next time it gives another file it cant delete. I deleted 2 files but I think im going in circels here.
Im running Vista 64x, and I cant run NS atm. :S

    edit:
Even after deleting all dll.0 files, NS still aint working. Steam updates, I login, and it fails to work...
    Im clueless.

edit2: It works after rebooting pc now -_-
But the problems comes again. When you bug out of ns, and you wanna rejoin the game, steam says the game is already running ( which its ######ing not! ), you exit steam through user management, start steam and get the "Game unavaible "bug.
When i end the hl.exe process everything is allright :>

yes, the process is still running is because the process is still running, kill the hl.exe and all is good.

tbh, I think you have solved all your problems, if you haven't post a bit of a clearer problem.

yeay i did, the bug I had at first was caused by ip adress or something. I solved it by making a static ip adress again.
    Google, google and google forums and you'll get there <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
