How Do I Use A Custom Avatar?

<div class="IPBDescription">Can't upload</div> Hi, I can't seem to upload my avatar to use. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'> It's a .jpg file and its size is 13.4 kb. When I try to select it in the browse field, it says I'm not allowed to upload that type of file as an avatar.

Can anyone help me?

Don't try to use a .jpg.
