<div class="IPBDescription">Only 32 players didn't miss this..</div>Wow what a battle last night. The marine team relocated to the ventilation hive on hera and we held out there for 2 hours. It was pretty awesome. Unfortunately, a well coordinated onos-fade rush eventually brought us down. It ended at 2 am. LONG LIVE hive relocations that turn into epic struggles for survival. It was on the <BAD> server though, not the G4B2S server.

(Look at the time!)
Long games = boring m i rite! Anyway, yeah we barely see 2 hour games, used to be that way all the time in 1.04. More fun then as well. Needs more secret sauce.
lucky *******s <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
where do I sign up?
Could anyone tell me what they depict?
It gets frustrating as comm when the aliens keep pushing you back at every turn, but you end up winning in the end. I never enjoyed the games where you turtled in base for 1-2 hours waiting for it to end.
Thanks for informing us of you having a two hour long game?!
you played this game with me on the bad clan server on the 11th
i had to scream at you to welder me every 5 sec
its was not the G4B2s server
After many, and many minutes resulting into more than 3 hours of gameplay, we got many heavy armors and owned the aliens.
Well, it was a sight to behold, even though we just welded for like 2-3 hours while we were getting enough resources from on RT for everyone to have heavies.
Games should never last that long.

Perhaps. Not everyone has time for such long games and if every game is going to be that long, then NS2 will start losing players.
However, I think games should last a minimum of 40-60 minutes, just so that you feel as if you are in an epic battle for domination; without spending a ridiculously long time playing a videogame.
the max 20min rounds just make it another CS....

not at all, i rather play 5 fun games than one long boring one
this "epic" menace i wierd and not at all understandable, the lengt of a game doesn't determine the fun of it.
Especially when you realize you wasted 2 hours of your life on ish.
If you are looking for a game with long playtime, play civilization or something.
Look, its pretty simple: Longer, slower paced games put more of an emphasis on good strategy and tactics and reduce the advantage of quake-style FPS skills. Some people think thats more fun than 10-20 minute games that are basically quake with some occasional structure building (my opinion, not to be confused with anyone elses').
it was amazing. I love those long games. Man after 4 hours I left to eat pee and stuff.
at the 5th hour I came back, and its still the same game. We had a good laugh as my friend was over at the time, and we both joined marines. An hour later we mutually decided it was a draw. and both teams f4-d disregarding server rules.
Funny, if I were to say something like "If you're looking for quick 20 minute games go play CS" (as SLizer sort of did) then I'd get flamed (which he sorta did).

I were just about to do that since its such a stupid thing to say.
If you want long games go play civilisation or something... oh someone else beat me to it

Doesnt look that simple to me, making the maps 100 times bigger would make the game slower but not more strategical/tactical and btw quakeworld is the most tactical game ive played.
I have nothing against long games but i dont want to play for several hours when the outcome already is decided and i dont want to play against static defenses, then it would probably be pretty tedious if every game was several hours long.
The outcome is never decided.
I have with marines won, when we were stuck in hive room, and had one res node. I have never had seen
better teamwork than that, and have never had more fun playing an online fps. As long as you dont give up, and keep pushing, you can always win. Like I sad. We have defeated aliens on barely anything when aliens were all onos and fades, with maxed out res. Just takes team work, and endurance. And its amazing fun.
Good games you can brag about. And if you dont think its fun, then why are you playing.
