<div class="IPBDescription">I've mixed and put it all together some time ago...</div>Every HL mod I touch is heavily changed and modded.
Starting from CS, through DoD, Firearms and finally to NS.
I've made a F.E.A.R ambience sound pack some time ago and I though you might want to know.
It's on Fileplanet, so some of you might know about it.
BASICS:
All sounds used here come from F.E.A.R, but have been edited and modified by me to suit HL engine and NS atmospherics.
I've seen some conversion packs over the net (starcraft conversion for example) and nobody complained about copyrights or something, so I think it's ok. Anyway - It's non profit work. NS is free and I'm doing it only for fun and for education purposes (sound editing ie.)
Now...
Official readme attached to archive:
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->A sound pack for Natural Selection Half-Life mod.
Contains many new ambience sounds from F.E.A.R the game, which have been resampled and remixed by me to fit Natural Selection mod.
I've focused mainly on quality, and replaced many mp3 files in NS folder. Now all mp3's are CD quality adding new, fresh feel to old HL engine.
There are also some vox, items and weapon sounds (and cool heavy armor steps).
All sounds come from F.E.A.R the game, and are property of it's authors, so you cannot use them commercialy.
(...)
This sound pack contains some sounds extracted from F.E.A.R, and edited by me to fit Natural-Selection. I have found while playing F.E.A.R, that it has the best atmospheric sounds up to date, so I decided to edit them and realease as a sound pack.
<b>Most ambience files are heavily edited and remixed by me (including the flag project - atmospheric.mp3 which has been mixed down using many effects and sample files, creating main NS ambient file), but there are some which are just downsampled to 22KHz, and equalized (like weapon sounds).
Also - <!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro-->my biggest motivation were .mp3 files in ambience folder, which means I could mix new ones in CD quality (44100Hz, 16 bit, stereo), and I did a lot experimenting with reverberation and channel balance. Hope you'll like it!<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b>
I'm planning to release v2.0 of this sound pack later, with more sounds.
This pack is free, I am taking no personal or money goods by releasing it.
It is just made for fun, and to extend my sound editing skills.
Any questions or suggestions:
Write - rogacz87@go2.pl or porcupinefloyd@gazeta.pl
Have fun with it!

Oh... I forgot <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Installation <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Just put the unzipped "Sound" folder into C:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\e-mail\half-life\ns\ overwriting everything.
Also, don't forget to make backup! <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'll do 2.0 if someone is interested.

Comments
edit: wow this is really cool! Heres my mirror:
<!--coloro:#990000--><span style="color:#990000"><!--/coloro--><a href="http://city14central.com/hosted/misc/ns_fear_snds.zip" target="_blank">==>>HERE<<==</a><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->
I don't have any good, fast server to host, so this mirror will really help :-)
Any comments are appreciated (especially what you don't like).
I'll try to do more of them in next version... if I get some more time which I don't have (poor student).
Yes, modNS community provided a link too. Big thanks. Well, I didn't thought it's permanent <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> It was quite a time ago.
Thanks to everybody providing mirrors. It's amusing how people participate in NS community :-)
(I'll update the main page soon)
