That's right, just like the title says.

Have marines be able to build and load some marines in, but only allow 1 at a time in the map. It could be repaired with welders. Thoughts?

why are people trying to make starcraft into a FPS+RTS (what NS is now) sure star craft had its highs and lows, but this ain't starcraft guys.

sure a bunker would be nice, but mappers can make these bunkers just fine.

I can't imagine a bunker working out very well in claustrophobic hallways and cramped spacestations. Either it's big enough to block the hallway and is a huge pain in the butt for aliens and marines, or it's small enough for people to walk around and aliens just avoid it because the marine is stuck inside and can't go anywhere.

maby if the bunker had seats in it so they could make it smaller.

Would the seats have cup holders for those thirsty marines to put their beverages? Cup holders are a god send!!!!

If they have seats they should have weels and ... wel then you'd have an apc XD

    apc ftw!

Like, the only things that arent in NS that are in Starcraft are the protoss, bunkers, overlords, and vehicles =P (and flamethrowers, but that's an engine restraint; and nukes, but the code for them still exists)

Bunkers wouldn't work in NS though.

You don't need bunkers. You just need effective turrets.

why bunkers when you can just block off a hallway? either with infestation for aliens or some sort or weldy thing with marines

Dude, bunkers? Unless we talk about an outdoor level or something, bunkers don't really make any sense inside a building. Unless your talking about marines bringing in prefabricated defenese such as "sand-bags" or portable nano shields. Even then, those would only be good for large maps, cause who in the world tries to hide behind a crate when a bunch of skulks are careening towards him? The shields only work if the enemy prefers shooting at you instead of ripping you apart melee.

This idea actually does have great potential if adjusted in a few ways since in its current form that you mentioned it's too obscure to be useful. The major issue being that they provide too much area denial for the marines if placed intelligently in those ever-so-common narrow hallways. But to something similar like Crotalus mentioned, if they are placed by the map maker (most likely activated by wielding an access point) in a wide open area where much advantage is given to aliens (lots of nooks and crannies in which aliens can dash from and to – it’ll have potential to make some very memorable maps.

I think it as more of a deployable turret without 360 shielding though.

The only way i can see a bunker feasible is with some welded together metal tables, crates etc, which would just get owned by an onos.

    I'll just take an exampel:

1 bunker filled with, maybe 5 marines? Now give them welders, take turns to shoot the crap out of aliens = woo immortality bunker

Just imagine if they built one in a hive area.
