Marine Crouch jumping

Hi guys, I have a question I hope some of you can clear up for me.

After some time practising i've learned to bhop pretty well with aliens, it wasn't that hard tbh, and no, im not using a script to do it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Anyway, now i want to learn how to do the crouch jumping with rines, i've heard its considerable harder, but if anybody could give me some hints and pointers, or link a site that does that i would appreciate it a lot.

Thx in advance.

silent jump is quite hard cause mostly it matter of good timing, you just have to crouch and in a good moment press jump while holding duck(suggest you to watch some competitive demos from <a href="http://ensl.zanith.nl/" target="_blank">http://ensl.zanith.nl/</a> how premier league players do that).

Big thx for the help guys, it looks more complicated but practice ftw i guess <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    I'll reply again if further help is needed <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

i thought it was easier than doing a bhop

It's actually very simple conceptually. Just hold duck, wait, and jump just as the duck completes. Only the execution is difficult because it requires precise timing to jump just as the duck completes. If you jump too early, you jump from a stand; if you jump too late, you lose your speed to friction due to ducking.

also: if you do your first jump correctly it will be completely silent

so, after you make the silent jump you then do a bhop or just ordinary jump ?

it's basically a bhop except taht on the first jump you crouch (to get the silent jump) and when you come down for the second jump, you let go of crouch and do a normal strafe jump (or bhop if you will).

You should get more speed benefit than that.

IMO this is type of jump is more beneficial doing it backwards during combat.

Never! backwards double jump = go faster than a skulk and still shoot it ftw!
    <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Which begs the question, what is backwards double jump and how do you perform it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

The same as the silent bhop- just in reverse.

i.e. looking right whilst strafing left and vice versa.

Crouch for the first one, stand for the second one. The crouch bhop requires perfect timing to maintain your momentum (see civ's post).

This is really the key to learning it, you should be concentrating on this. The second jump is similar to normal bunny hopping and will be simple to get a feel for. The timing on the first jump is the hardest thing to develop. Just remember that it won't work unless that first crouch jump is silent.

    Ya i figured out that when i do it silent something must be correct <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

But thanks for all the help, makes me feel all fuzzy wuzzy.

also the silent jump is really good if you're trying to sneak around while moving at a decent speed, if you get good at this it's a lot fast than just walking slowly
