Hey guys,
My idea: You split your Rine Team into 2-3 Squads. Your Squads built up the base, kill Aliens, get Points.
After the squad gets 30 Points, they get 1 Bonus Point for a help Drone for e.g. Then you can unlock the second bonus Item with the Point.
The decision will be taken by the Squad Leader.
Its just an idea <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />

there should also be member punishments. if one member FF's too much, sits on a rt point etc etc, something can happen to him (e.g. his arour goes to 0 - any other ideas?)

i wouldnt say lose armor,
but maby make it so ur points drop over time/ if u tk or even die u lose one point.
cause it would be kinda lame when marines are attacking a hive from a phase gate and racking up the points,
esp if its a big squad.
agian i think it would be good to have this point system not just a 100 point thing but a 1000 or so, so that you get a point for say doing +50 dmg to any stucture or lifeform but then lose say 5 for a death and 10 for a tk
Marines get bonus points if they are organised in squads (squadleader).
Aliens will get the pack bonus. The more they are, the greater the bonus. Well that idea just popped up in my head so it's not very well thought out, but I guess I can come up with something good later on <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
Only small, but relatively noticably changes. The bonuses would stack the more marines are in your general vacinity.
e.g. Your near one other marine: You both gain a bonus of a 1.2x smaller cone of fire for all your weapons.
Your near two other marines: You all gain a bonus of 1.8x smaller cone of fire.
Your near.... etc
the current squad bonus is pretty good at the moment: you get to stay alive for more than a few seconds.

Amen to that. Any lone marine is SO going to die if he gets into any fight, except with maybe a fatty gorge. Where as the squad that watches each other's back will really kick some Kharaa ######. So, that being said, I don't really think we need any more bonus.
and how about instead of having radio comms with every person, ther commander has comms with swaud leaders, and squad leaders have radio comms with his squad and pther squad leaders.. no one else. kind of like the real army.
i think it should be made utterly impossible to kill aliens alone.

Nice, like bf2, But there have to be an option to eject lame Leaders.
Meh. Sounds like another idea to bring the game in line with the Battlefield series.

The thing about the radio comms is really cool, but somehow I'm not sure if everyone is ready for that. The commander has access to squad leaders, who in turn have access to leaders and soldier. That's nice, but somehow I don't think that the majority of players would pick it up. First you need a commander and squad leaders with mikes, it would defeat the whole purpose if they didn't have mikes, or they don't even talk like most public servers.
This game is too small for that kinda stuff. I see at maximum 2 squads in a 10 marine game. The comm idea is good, but in the case of NS2, it doesn't seem like it would apply very well...

The same reason they don't add onos to bf2? It doesn't fit with NS? I know we have these cool things called squads (You're squad 5!), but NS actually is not a squad game. *gasp*
EDIT: Actually, I take that back, I saw hints of suggestion that NS has squad game elements. But if you want my opinion, this idea is no good; NS isn't Combat.
i personally would prefer ~20 player servers probably, but need to see...
