FPS issues

<div class="IPBDescription">i have a good computer and my fps is crap - help</div>ok... i have a GOOD computer. Its not a monster but its more than capable of giving me 100+ fps. I have 2 GPUS with sli interface (nvidia 6600GT), 1 gig or ram and a nice AMD processor. But for some reason my fps is 60! WHY!? 1) Turn off Vsync, not in game, its in your nvidia properties. If its application controlled, untick it and turn it off.
2) Type in console in game fps_max 125 and developer 1

ooo fps_mas 125?

I thought the HL engine only supported up to 100 so thats all i ever used :O

Change the rendering mode to OpenGL instead of D3D.

I had the same problem on a Geforce 6800.
