Like, perhaps better skulk leaping or better gorgie spit damge. although the couldn't be generic. It could be like (Gorge spit damage and Skulk leap and Fade blinkyness and onos stomp) the buttons would actually change based on what life form you currently are (Presuming that the "Chamber upgradees lost when you change class" will still be implemented

Also, Chamber blueprints. Its incredibly annoying In NS to build a structure only to find its been slightly missplaced, and therefore going to get shot to pieces by a marine with a pistol.

Its just like any other upgrade, like sensory upgrades or Movement upgrades, except the upgrades don't do the same thing on each life form. like one pugrade button may give skulks better leaping power, bnut if you have that upgrade when you are fade, it increases acid rocket splash damge. or something specifc to that alien

i also think some kind of grid should come visible when building structures.

your original idea seems ok too.
