    I don't know how active these boards used to be, but I've certainly noticed a big increase in activity since the rebirth. I'm glad I didn't join a dead community <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    I made this conclusion since I didn't see all those registered members in the online members list that day. But when I clicked the "Show detailed by: Last Click, Member Name" links at the bottom of the forum. A hell of a lot of guests were online and the fact that "show only members/guests" doesn't work annoyed me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    Ignoring anything about this board, I know for sure that IPB 1.3 final includes guests in that number. I run a forum that, unfortunately, doesn't really serve as a community, but instead as a place for posting information about events to link to in a weekly email. I'm sure there have never been more than 3 registered members viewing the site at a time, but the most users ever online is 16.

    Going back to this forum, I noticed something strange with the site integration. People that are viewing the front page of the site (not the forum) show up as a user that is online. Click the "Last Click" or "Member Name" links, and you will see people listed as "On main site."

    I apologize for my error, as there's a mod out there that would make this correct.

    As this forum does not have the mod installed, "that stat counts both members and guests. Search engine spiders can often blow that stat way out of proportion."
