<div class="IPBDescription">No more crappy minimum wage!</div>Over the last 3-4 years, I've worked at a Subway Sandwich store, a Coldstone Creamery, and most recently, a flower shop doing deliveries.
I just now landed a job doing Network Security for The Ohio State University. I know nothing specifically about what I'll be doing, but they're going to train me for all of it. The job is 20 hours a week, and only 5 of that will be doing actual work.
The rest will be homework time.
The raise is substantial, and because it's a position with a university that hires internally a lot, I'll be able to get most jobs on campus.
Hopefully, after a year or so I can transfer to the College of Arts and Sciences, wherby I can get my Grad School paid for, along with full tuition reimbursement as I go for my teaching certificate.
Things are finally looking up in the job market for ol' Legion, and I wanted to share it with the interweb!
If you're stuck in the crap student jobs, seriously, it's all about who you know. Meet some people. Hang out at the places where you want to work. Show and interest and a desire to learn, and you'll get picked up for something real.
Anyway, discuss.
