The game looks really slick, and so far is a lot of fun to play. But I've only been able to do the tutorial, as it seems a bit tricky to get anyone to join a demo game. I do intend to buy the game, but not until I've checked it out for long-term replayability. But since the game is sort of 'chess-like' in the sense that the potential scenarios that could evolve during the course of the game appear to be nearly infinite, which is a really strong selling point for me.

I'm just looking to get a lot more games in, before I decide if I won't become bored of it in 2 weeks -_-

This game is simple to learn, and hard to master. It wouldn't be so hard to master if you could, say, click on more than one ship or building at a time, or assign hotkeys to ships or buildings, or have some visual/aural indication that one of your cities has just lost MILLIONS OF PEOPLE because as it stands if you're not physically looking at the blast zone, you would never know as your entire country is reduced to radiation. I don't think I'm going to buy this, just because I suck at it and I prefer the complex strategy games to the chess-like ones.

Just tried out the demo. It's pretty fun but it feels a bit like killing a million puppies. I've never felt bad about murder simulators like CS but for some reason the minimalist statements in this game ("5 million dead" should make you cheer) seem far more unethical than any gore.

I think thats kind of the point. I played through part of the tutorial, I may jump online later.

But yeah, its supposed to be chilling and make you feel uncomfortable. Its not just entertainment, its social commentary!

It's entertainment too... ended up finally getting into a six-player Survivor game, which is awesome. Allied with two people (I as the USA, the other two as western europe and africa). Was doing okay until south america ended up nuking the hell out of Chicago.

Managed to sneak two fleets up to the (until then untouched) east asian coastline, and left Beijing, Hong Kong and Tokyo as melting, glowing craters. Converted the rest of my silos to launch mode (everyone else had already spent their missiles) and sent one from each (so they all launch at once) to each major enemy city, then sent my bombers afterward to mop up the minor cities.

Managed to hit second, and an allied state landed as first. Unfortunately, east asia was running the server and disconnected when it was clear that he was toast.

So far I've only gotten in one online game, and I learned something important.
Its not easy being Europe when Africa and Russia have all their silos pointing at you <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
I couldn't launch anything without it being blown away instantly.

The computer cheats. They could use hot keys and we can't. Computer lauching every missile at the same time = HAX.

Really cool game, but not sure if it's worth buying yet... seems like it'd get boring fairly quick. Boats are also painfully slow.

Your favorite strategy is to nuke them? I'll have to write that one down, professor.

I've tried spectating a few games. They inevitably end in "server shutting down."

    You mean they inveitably end in NORAD/the equivalent getting nuked <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

It's a shame they dont have any roll-over system.

They should have used a P2P system, just like RTS games do.
