Yes, I have proof of a player using an aimbot.
Here is a link to a zip file of a demo: www.sharemation.com/zerosaber/lamer1.zip (Thanks to zero for the hosting)
To play the demo, type "play /*demo name*/" in the console.
OR you can use geekplay. www.geekboys.org/geekplay
Things to look for:
-Jerky motion.
-Able to know when and where enemies are comming from.
-Stops firing immeadiatly after kill.
-Able to see through walls.
If you want me to point out the specific times that this player does any of the above, let me know.

I didn't really notice that, but all the demos I watch go super fast (see bottom of post).
-Able to know when and where enemies are comming from.
That's easy if you listen for them, or it's obvious where they will come from.
-Stops firing immeadiatly after kill.
Eh, maybe.
-Able to see through walls.
I didn't really see any evidence of that, but I may be wrong.
Perhaps what I'm saying is this: Suppose you had a really awsome game today. I mean you totally were into it. Then you come to the forums and find that the admin of the server you played on had posted your information along with a demo of your performance and told everyone to ban you. How would that make you feel? Not too hot I'd reckon.
Also, how do you get your demos to play at redular speed? Everytime I play on (I have to use the 'gg' command) they play in 2x or 2.5x the normal game speed.
I can tell the spots he is talking about. Ok, after the first death he ammos up, bunny hops all the way to the mess hall and then up the stairs to the nozzle up top. 3 OCs up there (badly placed) that he bunny hops past. So far I could have written off the skulk kills in the hive room as some awesome reflexes and skill. It was pushing it since he knew that things popped up and there's no spawn sound that I could detect.
What really pushes it for me, though, is the fact that while defending that corridor two skulks get close to him. We'll forgive his perfect aim on the 2-3 before them and focus just on them. The first one he dodges to the side while it jump knaws at him. Through the jump he nails it. The second one is even more amazing as the skulk pulls off a leap. He jump/duck dodges to one side and perfectly tracks the skulk through the leap. That might be the jerky motion he's talking about.
Let's think about this. He's moving through an arc in the Y axis, moving away from his target on the Z axis while his target is going through it's own arc in the Y axis and moving perpendicular to him at high speed in the X axis and he retains perfect aim the whole time through? You have to admit, if it ain't grade-A halibut it sure smells about the same. I'd say at the very least people should keep an eye on this one if he shows up.
As for the others, lemme see if I can explain them before he replies. See if we're spotting the same thing.

This is certainly the case with the final skulk that gets him. I heard the ticking of its claws on the plate and knew which direction it was coming from. I saw more evidence of this during the hive sequence. The spawns are soundless and some of them are on the edge of the 3rd person view which means they may be out of his 1st person view. In some cases the skulks would be targetted before the finished spawning and hitting the ground. However without a first person view on this one it would be hard to say conclusively.

This one I gotta agree with you in and of itself. Lots of people are good with their ammo conservation. Of course this guy was shooting an LMG at a hive. OTOH even the best of us shot a few more rounds than needed every now and again. I don't recall one time in here when he did.

QUOTE

-Able to see through walls.

Prime candidates for this one would be when he rounds the corner on the gorge and later when defending the corridor it seems like he is hitting the far corners before the skulks come out. He was looking down that corridor quite a bit and was only firing just before the skulks arrive. Again, would need to see the first person view to be sure.
Those three in and of themselves could be someone on a good game. But combined and with the perfect dodge/shot of a skulk they can be indicators.
LOL I love it.
Definetly. However, in this situation, I side with the defendant.
Case in Point:
Low Unique ID
To me, this says he has played a while. The "bunnyhopping" describes that. This guy is probably experienced. His movements tell us that.
HOWEVER
Unless both server and client were top speed, this guy was just too fast.
Again,

.:SkWyReL:.
Or wait, did the skulk just reincarnate at that moment? Also notice how he was killed at the end by a lone skulk coming from a sweep attack. If he had a wallhack he would have seen the skulk coming. Then again he could have been concentrating on the skulks at the end of the hallway.
Like they said, hard to judge, he may just be that good. I have seen other people with impressive scores as aliens like 60 to 0. Could it mean they hack too? I dunno, you should have kept recording the demo.
By the way, how do you make your own demo?

Respawn. If you look later on another skulk drops from the exact same spot after respawning.
Right, he was killed by a skulk that was coming from the side. He was concentrating down the hallway. That was the one time I know nothing was amiss because I could hear the skulk coming, knew that it wasn't coming from the hallway and considering his position was not coming from behind or to the right of him. Had to be the left. So he looked left but did so too late. Let's not forget he was mostly kibble at that point so all the skulk had to do was graze him.
I'd say look out for the same nick/wonid again and watch more closely his actions and make sure you know whether or not he has motion tracking etc
As for 1st person, that is only with HLTV. Unfortunatly, NS does not have this in observer mode. With the 1st person mode, it is incredably easy to catch a cheater.
Your WON ID does not have to do with how long you have been playing. At one point in time, some people's ID were changed. mine was not. Valve reset part of their database or something.
According to your logic...305469 (mine) I had to start later than many other people. but I started playing online soon after HL 1st came out. I've had this ID since.

I am on the verge of downloading a "swiss army hack," rewriting the vecters and making it compatable for NS. Then record a few demos of me playing. Or I can get a kid who has cheated before to do that instead of me. [Pipe dream]
How many of you have actually seen a demo of a cheater before?

QUOTE

Suppose you had a really awsome game today. That's why I don't think this is fair for the players. It's different when you have logs of clients that flood, abuse, and crash servers. This is not that obvious of an offence.
Again, it is ultimately up the each admin to decide for his or herself whether or not to ban the player you report here. I understand that you believe you are doing this for the good of the community, and that's fine, but I don't think every ban you make needs to be posted here.
I'm not shooting at you specifically, Disturbed, so please do not take offence. I'm speaking to the server operator community itself. There is a certian standard of morals and behavior that I believe we should uphold, and part of that is giving players the benefit of the doubt.
I see this is getting long, so I'm going to wrap it up. Just be careful who you report here. You might accidentally be responsible for getting a legit player banned on many servers. Think about these things before you post.
I gave this demo to a programer who has made an aimbot. He agreed that this player was hacking.
I fail to see where I said "BAN HIM! HES THE DEVIL! WRAAA!!!!!!"
When an aimbot has more than one target on the screen, it will tend to switch between the two. At the end where he twitches, yes there was a warning via sound. But he was flickering between the 2 targets.

QUOTE

Suppose you had a really awsome game today. After he respawns and ducks into the room with the resource nozzle, all I can hear is the steam.
I must say that, I've not seen a demo of a cheater before, so I don't know what to look for, and therefore I cannot pass judgment. I suppose when I think of cheating I envision killing everyone without getting killed, etc. The typical CS cheater, if you will (I don't play CS, so again, I don't know).
I'm just trying to protect the innocent, that's all. I don't mean to be pointing fingers at anyone. I don't really know the characteristics of an aimbot either, so this has been a learning experience for me as well.
P.S. It is good to use for skulk as well

you loser, i don't think you cheat, but i think you're retarded for taking out the draw models. I can bite you just fine with models on, and i can shoot you just fine with the muzzle flash as "big" as it is
RemiX, perhaps insulting Disturbed is not the best way to go about this. From what I can tell, he's trying his best to protect his server and the players there, and to be as fair as possible. His skill really has nothing to do with this, and neither you nor Disturbed is the enemy here. Remember, everyone makes mistakes. If you submitted calm, rational arguments stating your side, maybe a compromise or at least a better understanding could be reached?
This is the kind of thing that I was talking about, and would like to avoid seeing, if possible.
/me sighs
Oh well. Life goes on.
LiquidFusion, insulting RemiX doesn't help either. Each person has their own way to play.

agreed i'll shut up now. *shoots self in foot*
Note: Although the aliens can use the command too, it takes away their hivesight, which I see as a disadvantage
My $.02
1. I did not talk to you ONCE during that game. I never accused you of cheating in the game. After watching you play, I was suspecious and recorded a demo.
2. I did not request that anyone ban you. I posted your ID and a link to a demo of you for a server admin to review and come to their own conclusions.
3. How does my "skill" and not "owning the server" have to do with anything? Unlike other people, I play for fun. I happen to get the most enjoyment out of teamwork.
4. I never "talked crap" to you.
remiCs (remiX) if you want this all to go away...DON'T BUMP IT UP. Its not like I could delete it if I wanted to....
LiquidFusion: I disagree. There will be a small period of time where people will be more leery of the individual, but after a while, things will return to normal.
If anyone would like a few demos of cheaters, let me know. Unfortunatly, they are all for the mod FA.
remiCs, I'll make you a deal. I will formally appologize to you if after I watch that demo (yet again) and find a shead of doubt, I will say that I am wrong.
Its not that hard to do, is it? The more bent out of shape you get over this, the more likly it is that you either hack or will end up getting banned for being an **obscenity**. (Not that I am calling you a hacker or an **obscenity**. i just know this from past experience)
Perhaps I should have waited a day or so before posting this, instead of posting it at 3am.... That is my big mistake there.

remiCs, I appologize for accusing you for haveing a cheat and using it on a server this morning. While I am still suspicious, there is at least 1 part of that demo which does not behave anything like any aimbot that I know of. I am sorry that I may have offended you in any way, and would like to appologize for any insults that I may have spewn to you.

if you are banned from any server, it might be because of your
a) attitude of the forums
b) spawncamping
c) bunny hopping
I know of a few servers that do just that. It ends up saving them time in game since the same people will normally act up in game as well.
If you think thats wrong, well, any server admin could easily ban me for posting this. Or ban us both for posting on a forum. A server is someone's property, and they can do as they wish.
"Now am i suppose to take this whole thing lightly? I doubt VERY much any of you would. He has NO RIGHT to do this type of thing to ANYONE, especially if they are only assumptions he is basing it all on. So, i have no respect for him but i will refrain from insulting him on the forums. "
I sure as hell would. I have been accused of cheating before. I usually take it as a complement unless they are also threatening me in the accusation. If the accusation comes to a forum, I would not really care. For me to be rightfully banned, the accuser has to provide proof, correct? Well, if they do provide a demo of me playing, then the demo should clear everything up.
Also, you are saying that I have no "right" to do as I did. Well...I went into observer mode and recorded a demo of you. I have no right to do that? i am not allowed to use an in-game mode to execute another in-game function which records whatever I am seeing???
P.S. i am only trying to resolve any questions/conflicts/disputes here.
Yup. It is an unaviodable part of Natural Selection. Glad to see that everyone is getting along...
On a side note, I was not trying to give anyone a bad name. Sorry of anyone thinks that.
