<div class="IPBDescription">the ultimate turnaround</div> I joined a 20 player server with NS_HERA cuz I like that map. I join aliens since they're short a man and look at the scores, marines 68 aliens 17. I could pretty much figure out what was going on. Marines had a good commander and were securing node after node. We had 2 hives, vent and data, but data was being sieged. Everybody on my team started saying "it's over" and "gg guys but we lose". So I figure, what the hell let's use up the last couple of spawns to damage some spawn portals or something. So I run into their base and run up to their command chair thinking ok there's no way a commander this skilled would leave it undefended. Sure enough, NO TURRETS OR ANYTHING!!!! So I open the door and go in but I don't attack the chair yet cuz I know I'm not gonna destroy it fast enough alone. So I inform my teammates that I need more guys up here to take out their chair. Only 1 guy showed up and we started munching on the chair. But then he took off when it was yellow. Maybe to slow the marines down I hope but I was on my own to take down that chair. So stopping to rest (didn't have adrenaline) I started munching again. I was relieved when the red went to zero and one more bite took down the chair just as an HA marine came up the elevator. Well that was fun.
Now surely this commander wasn't foolish enough not to build another chair right? I mean this guy was doin exactly what a good commander would do so he obviously built another chair in some obscure area of the map right? WRONG! The marines who were advancing so fast suddenly just lost steam and held back. My teammates were still talking about giving up and getting ready to just resign to the ready room. But then I told them that I took out a comm chair and was askin my guys if they saw another one anywhere. Nobody replied, and we all realized that that if that was their only chair, we just crippled them. So we gathered our forces and held them off from taking our last hive. Slowly but surely, we took out their HA/HMG guys one by one until they were left with nothing but lmgs. After I took out one of their better players who had a ha and hmg, he left the game which convinced me that they no longer had a chair. So we held them off and slowly advanced smashing all their turrets and rebuilt all our hives. I asked my team if we really needed 3 hives for this lol. They built 3 anyway and an hour after nearly resigning, we overkilled our way to victory.
Thus ends my long winded story and ultimately, a lesson for all of us. NEVER SAY DIE!!! NEVER GIVE UP!!! NEVER SURRENDER!!!! and MARINES ARE LIKE LOBSTERS...... TENDER..... JUICY...... i think we just tired the aliens out by holding them off for so long, i think they just gave up and when their best guy left(who seemed to be like an alien comm),they just fell apart

Yeah I lived some nice comebacks, but not as nice as these you guys posted <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> The funniest one I saw was in a laggy server, where I was commander ( cuz no1 wanted to get in ) and a group of skulks started attacking the chair. I quickly spawned another in a corner of the base, logged out and wiped out the aliens. Then I went build the 2nd chair, and got in this one. The same skulks rushed the ?old? chair again, and destroyed it. The <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> were soo proud of themselves, but I told my team not to worry. I gave some HA-Shotty-HMG of a little surprise party <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> When they came back, they had a big surprise <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> Too bad the server crashed soon after <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

It's nice when these things happen, but you better hope the enemy team sux enough to make one of these obviously game losing mistakes.
Same story as most of the above only differnce is that I was a fade and my method for getting into the base was by something the marines used as an offensive point. My team was being pushed back by the ever powerfull HA HMG Marines/w jet packs. I did what most aliens do best......I hid in the shadows and grew into a fade/w RG, ADL. While the confadent marines charged forward I found a mini base and hopped aboard a transporter and was given a first class ticket right into the base ^_^ ran strait for the chair and clawed away at it. The com hops out ofcoarse and gets eaten alive. Minutes later a HA HMG shows up only to get owned along with a LMG friend. To make a long story short the marines fought back.....but didnt make to much progress, the remaining HA HMG marines where rounded up and eaten, and the base destroyed.......sadly most of them left the game right after i destroyed the chair =p <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo--> I am onos hear me ROARRRRRRR

i liked your thread quad, read it before.. but this guy's campin in the vents tactic is awesome. I've never thought of that, haha.
Not a very good situation to be in, we conserved our ammo as well as we could but pretty soon we only had our welders. We made our way to a hive, and actually took it out with our welders, any aliens that got close found themselves burned through from exploding nanotech.
Our spirits lifted a little, we slowly walked towards the next hive. Along with various aliens along the way we found three offensive chambers standing close together. I tell the other marines "weld me as I weld them" And go off to my grim deed, I weld two of them down and start on the next when I tell the other two, "My health is low, I have 4 hp le-" and fall to the ground dead. The light defenses on this side down, (it seems they were having a lot of difficulty and the killing blow to the marine base was an act of desperation), the two remaining went on to the hive, and repeated the act of welding it down. As I expected, the dead marines were well entertained watching this, saying things like "It's the attack of the welders!" But unfortunately lerk and a skulk came in and took down one of them, Soon after, a fade entered and slashed the the remaining heavy with no one to weld him. That may have been their last hive. But in the end, with no way to spawn, the aliens won. Though I still fondly remember this run.
