What happened to it?
http://readyroom.org/

For those of you who haven't been around for a while, readyroom.org was a sister site to this one, but updated a lot more frequently with a lot more random stuff. Its been due to return for about a year now. What happened?

Fam actually finished the design. It's nothing to do with him.

If I had to name one person who knows the most about why RR.org isn't back yet, I'd say it's MonsieurEvil. But since Microsoft seems to be keeping him busy with work, my next name would be Comprox, who's much easier to contact.

Mons had a killer "how-to" on system optimization. Infact it was the only one that was thorough in describing how to change your pagefile size and turn off bandwidth throttiling (no longer an issue in SP2) through the registry.
It'd be cool if Mons could transfer some of that stuff into a permanent (tech) thread on these forums?... (if he's still alive )

changing the pagefile is as easy as going to my computer and then to the virtual memory button, and the bandwidth throttling in XP only applies to programs which use QoS -- and i would bet money you don't have a single program which does

    this is 'killer'?

    titanium, you haven't seen it

    it is indeed killer

don't speak on things you haven't viewed before making judgmental comments

as far as RR being down, I would yell at comprox just cause he attracts that general kind of thing

I miss RR.Org, was a good site... Maybe we should make a ReadyRoom.ORG Wiki!

Indeed, it doesn't sound killer now because XP's Service Pack 2 renders many of the tweaks obsolete. But back when it was made, 2000 was better than XP pre-SP1 bigtime. And for 2000, it was indeed killer.

I've already read a post by MonsieurEvil lamenting how old that guide was, and he says he's got a few notes written down for a new version. Until then, there's the Windows XP Tweaking Companion (XPTC), which contains many/most of MonsE's same tweaks, and notes several places where SP2's changes affect tweaks we once knew and loved.
