delete the desktop icon and either use the start menu one or start half life and get to NS through the custom games menu.

Adding the path to your half life folder in the "Start In" option will solve the "not laoding NS" problem... as for the servers, it's a buggy thing sometimes. I can load the game up fine, and sometimes get a full list of servers from otehr games- if it does this, exit and re-launch. should fix its self.

I recommend you get a server browser like all seeing eye or gamespy 3d over the standard halflife browser. You can do things like search for buddys and get lists with more filters.

www.udpsoft.com/eye - All-Seeing Eye owns GameSpy. I mean, unless you are into being forced to watch commercials before you can browse the game servers.
