    Waddya mean, Liku ages?

    I've always wondered whether bithdays haven't lost their meaning. In days past, surviving for a year was actually quite the accomplishment, particularly if you were younger than ten or older than thirty. But nowadays, what are we celebrating? In our modern, safe society, survival is almost guaranteed. That milestone that is your birthday is hardly worth speaking of. Aside from the few birthdays that mean something legally (most notably the eighteenth birthday in most western countries), birthdays are largely irrelevant aside from some arbitrary meaning that we would give them.

    But a happy one anyway. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Which is why terminally ill cancer patients get more presents.

    reasa, ever the cheerful one. Again, interesting and odd concept: Why give terminally ill cancer patients lots of presents? they won't be able to enjoy them for very long. Maybe that's why? "He'll expire soon and then I can reclaim it."

    Heh.

    That would make for an <i>awesome</i> Wal-Mart customer service prank.

    "Hello can I return these?"

    *dumps a large pile of stuffed animals, actions figures, video games, and bags of candy on the counter, with several full bags still on the ground*

    "May I ask why you’re returning all these products sir?"

    "Bad day at the Children’s Hospital..."

    Actually that’s pretty horrible...I feel bad now...
