Gun Shells

<div class="IPBDescription">how do i change them?</div> Ok, this might seem kind of weird, but I am trying to set it up so the guns don't eject shell casings (except for shotgun). I was able to change the pshell.mdl in the ns/models directory but the pistol still ejects shells, and i havent tried the HMG yet. Does anyone know how to change this? Also what is the sound file of the shell hitting the ground you hear some times?

    What possible reason could you have to disable shell ejection? I don't know how either way, but I can't see any reason to get rid of it.

    Actually I was wondering why not have ALL the guns not eject casings? I mean haven't these people heard of caseless ammo? It seems to make more sense given that in the story they would want to economize on gear, so casings are just extra cost that does nothing.

    I think the idea was that he wanted casseless ammo, however cassless SGun makes no sense ;D

    heh. the pellet portion of a shotgun shell is mostly paper. so it's not as much a problem as you think.

    Eh I cant find it in the sprites folder either. Yeah I figure if these guns are high tech might as well make them that way. I also replaced the muzzle flash spright with light smoke sprite. So there isnt a muzzle flash just smoking coming out of the barrel. SO anyone know how to set upt he pistol so you dont see a shell casing eject?

    If memory serves, there is a HL console command controlling the time shell casing exist in the world, after that, they disappear. You could just lower that variable.
    Let me try and find it...

    edit: max_shells is the command. Type it in the NS console to see if it works. Change it to 1, I guess.

    Hmm, shotgun shell casings used to be made of a paper like substance (then stuffed with the powder the wad and then the shot) but now most are made of a plastic like material because it's easier for people who load there own shells to recycle.     Of course, manually editing your files to disable things like the muzzle flash could be construed as a form of cheating...

    I also think the welder sprite should be lowered, because, its kinda like REALLY welding
