Can't find the hack
Seriously. I love this game, but so much is dependant on the quality of your squad/teammates. I've only enjoyed one true match where each team really fought for it till the end.

What I'm looking for are different BF2 communities where you can get to know other players, and really have a repeated enjoyable atmosphere. I love the NS communities I am a part of, and I'm looking for something similar in BF2. So, pimp your BF2 community/TS server/whatever, so people like me can give them a try.

As an aside, is the VoIP support really wonky for other people? It rarely works for me, and even then it'll only work long enough for one or two transmissions before it bugs out. I'm using the on-board sound on my nForce2 right now, but if I have to I can switch over to my Audigy2 (but I'd have to get a different digital cable for my speakers).

Edit: Other VoIP applications, such as Ventrilo, Teamspeak and HL VoIP work just fine.

Edit2: When I say "transmissions," I'm refering to both sending and recieving data. I can't say anything most of the time, nor can I hear anyone else.

    Very much so.

So that I can clarify this topic:

You are asking for informational sources to help you find Battlefield 2 clans? You are looking to join a BF2 clan, yes?

A clan, or something like Lunixmonster where people are team players and join squads and work together and stuff. I want one too!

Not really a clan considering my schedule prohibits any real dedication to tourneys and such, just a community where you can get involved and enjoy playing with the same people, and actually have a good, well skilled game.

Yes! This is exactly why I've shied away from gamming clans for a long time. It's too much to commit to with other priorities of life needing to take precedent.

THIS IS A BIG NICHE WAITING TO BE FILLED WHY DOESN'T IT EXIST?!

    tacticalgamer.com

Tactical Gamer is a premiere online gaming community that is focused on teamwork and tactical gameplay for a more mature / adult audience. If you're looking to play multiplayer online games but are tired of the run of the mill "Deathmatch" environment. You might want to give us a try.

We're not ranked atm, but, in due time, when EA has everything in order, it will come.

P.S. The private server, which if for supporting memebers (Like me) has unlockables unlocked.

This Tactical Gamer place seems neat, but they're kind of weird. Their idea of a "bad thing" is blowing yourself up with C4 in order to take out a tank. I mean, trading a spec ops for a tank is a no brainer for me.

At a guess, try either a clan with lots of members (I used to be in a Wolf ET clan which had enough people that it could rotate people when players weren't available), or try hanging around in clan IRC channels and servers anyway. If you play with the same skilled regulars often enough you're likely to get teamwork happening, and there's also the chance that they'll have PUGs going.

but you lose 2 points for the suicide and end up with 0 points

I gave up on teamplay in BF2. I pwn it up by starting my own squad and ramboing. if a decent player happens to join my squad, sweet, then I enjoy the teamplay while it lasts - but I never rely on it. All players are nubs unless proven pwn.

it's funny - whenever I break my own rule and decide to trust some random dude enough to be a passenger in his car, he drives off a cliff, into a river, or into a crowded enemy base...

but to get back on topic... being part of a community of intelligent gamers WOULD be nice, but it would be more trouble than it's worth on BF2 IMO. I'm not the sort of person who wants to have to sign on teamspeak or IRC just to find out if anyone is playing, and then dig up the server they're playing on and join it...

besides, if I started playing on servers with players who were actually GOOD, I wouldn't get a gold star almost every game
