"I'm <s>Spartacus</s> the seer!" "No, I'm the seer!" "I'm the seer!" "We are all the seer!"
Remember, since the wolves know who all the wolves are, they also know who all the humans are, simply because the humans have to be everyone else. So the wolves can easily impersonate the seer. Not to mention that no seer is just going to publically announce himself like that - he'd be too afraid of getting killed by the wolves.
I put this in the TWG 6 postgame thread, but it got no response, so I'll repost it here where it belongs anyway.
I have a couple of nitpicky rules questions. The first one is about using instant messenger to communicate anonymously with people. The trouble I see is that when you die, you have to stop talking to them. However, that by itself is enough to tell them who they were talking to, or at least narrow it down quite a bit. Is that an issue?
The second one is with the rule of imitating other players. If you contact someone anonymously, are you not allowed to say later on that you are someone other than who you really are? It seems to me that since the contact is anonymous to begin with, people should be suspicious of anything you say, including when you identify yourself. Imitating a player isn't possible on the forum or on IRC, so instant messenger is about all that's left. Clearly, when I got a message from nsGwahir, it had to be Gwahir, because that would clearly be breaking the rule.
Neither of these mattered for this game, but I could easily see it being important in the future.

For the instant messanger part it's not an issue. You're creating an anoynamus (arg spelling) identity that wouldn't exist in the first place. You're making your own personal risk by having the chance that it could die with your name.
For the second question, I don't see anything particularily wrong with saying you're somebody else <b>as long as your anonymus name bears no similarity to any players name.</b> Swiftspear could pose as Gwahir but only if his name is something like "randomTWGplayer", not if it's "ThisIsGwahir".
The name itself can't imitate the player basically. This is a game of lies so nothing a player says can be taken seriously to begin with.
Theme is decided after nominations, and usally because different hosts have different themes, after the host elections as well. The players will know the theme before sign up occurs however.
The thread for that is here if you missed it. <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=95360' target='_blank'>http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index....showtopic=95360</a>
Hey just an idea: Why not use an honor system, kind of, for dead people so we can stay voiced, etc? I mean, if people really want to cheat, they could just pm a member, e-mail, im. Unvoicing them isn't really changing much, imo. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Whatever the decision on people being voiced, it needs to be consistent. Last game, no one had voice removed when they died. Those same people had voice for a while during this game (some of them still do). This game, everyone that's dead gets voice removed. I personally think that dead players should stay voiced, and it should only be removed at the end of the game, unless a particular player clearly needs to be devoiced.

Sigs have been updated to take into account TWG VII. BadKarma, Stukov, and Petco. You three will have to add them in your signatures, everyone else, yours have automatically updated so if you're already wearing it you don't have to do anything.
I've just looked at most of the post game threads recently, it seems a quite a few of the MVPs were killed before the game ended. I think there should be some place for "# of MVPs" in the award sigs or something like that. Also give the award sigs for MVPs as well.

The only problem I have with including MVP's in the sigs is that the MVP (or co-MVP's) are determined by the hosts oppinion more than anything else. Because of this the role of MVP may not be entierly accurate and players who performed very well in the game but were not named MVP may feel cheated. For example, the Seer could have a couple of alli's he confers with greatly. The Seer (player "A") always converses information with player Player B behind the scenes. He then gets Player C to speak for him announcing who's a wolf and so forth. When the wolves die, Players A and C may be named co-MVP's by the game host for their notable teamwork in exposing the wolves, but Player B who was incredibly helpful and insightful to the Seer from behind the scenes is put aside without any sort of mention.
Yes, Player B could PM the host during the game to inform him of all that has been happening from behind the scenes, but not everyone does that. Perhaps if there could be a more standardized way of choosing MVP's then it could go into the sigs, but until that happens, I see this as too big of a problem.
We could have everyone who played (including the host) vote for who the MVP/Co MVPs should be, for future games anyway. We'll have everyone tell their stories/views of the game and how things went and once we get the info from everyone's view's out, we'll have everyone vote for a MVP/Co MVPs.

The biggest advantage I can see in removing dead player's voice is allowing a live player to quickly scan the userlist for other live players. The channel isn't running +m(moderated) at the moment, so removing dead player's voice doesn't affect their ability to talk anyway.

Can we perhaps have signatures for people who played but didn't neccesarily survive <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
Maybe a special colour or something but they obviously don't get a rank??
Just an idea to encourage people to keep coming back into this, and the more signatures people are wearing, the more chance of getting new players into the games?

I havent read all the comments but I have 2 questions
Do I have to vote every "day"? Can I announce that I am a specific role whenever I want (aslong as its not during the night)?
Because, for question 1, I read the phantom votes part and I'm wondering if I don't vote on "day 1" I'll get a phantom vote. Fopr question 2, I read that some people have annonced that they were a seer or something. A clarification/confirmation would be nice <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />.

every day you don't vote you get a Phantom. It starts at .1 thus making you break ties. Every day after it goes up by 1, so 1.1, 2.1, 3.1 untill you insta lynch your self (by having a majority of the votes at the start of a round) or the Storyteller kills you.
If you want to avoid a phantom day one, but are not comfterable bandwagoning, do one of three things: 1) Vote for your self 2) make a random vote (random.org wil lhelp you) 3) Vote for some one who has 0 votes.
For announcing if you have a roll: Do it when ever you want. During the day in threads, anytime in IRC, in IRC PMs, in forums PMs.
And if you don't have a roll? Feel free to lie through your teeth! Lying is encouraged in this game.

More questions! (I could learn these myself, but for reference sake)
If I voted on someone on one day, would that vote carry on for the next day. So if for some reason I vote myself out on day 1 and never change it, would I always have that vote even until day 2, 3, 4....?
If someone has the most votes on a day but not enough to get insta-lynched, does he still get voted off and can't play anymore for that game? Its not exactly clear there.

Sure, but there's no reason for the others to believe. That's the tricky part.

I am thinking about hosting again and doing a Starcraft fanfiction.

Absolutly, host stories may be based on whatever you would like. Just try not to repeat a theme used in a previous game.
