Harware Acceleration Mouse

LorenzoLorenzo Join Date: 2004-01-23 Member: 25624Members
hi, my friend has a problem to play ns.

he brought a new wireless-mouse, and now he cant play ns because of the HARDWARE ACCELERATION; tried to adjust trough option--> menu, but no 1 solution fix the problem....
whatever he does, the acceleration will always rest to maximum value when entering ns, making the game unplayable

he cant disinstall the driver,because the mouse can be a remote controller and he use it very often.

the mouse is--> logitech mediaplay

suggestion? <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    You can disable mouse acceleration in your Control Panel if that is what you're referring to.

    Control Panel -> Mouse.

    In order to disable windows mouse acceleration (which is on by default), you need the CPL mouse fix.

    <a href='http://ftp.thecpl.com/mouse_fix.zip' target='_blank'>http://ftp.thecpl.com/mouse_fix.zip</a>

    Also, try lowering your mouse sensitivity in windows control panel and ingame using "sensitivity" in console.

    Hope that helps.

    Random confusion...

    We're talking about mouse acceleration, right? Cause by the hardware? I re-read your post and was not quite sure. "Hardware acceleration" is something else altogether.

    <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->
    In software mode, your CPU is doing all the hard work involved in rendering 3D scenes. Since this is a lot of work it can get pretty slow for complex scenes. Fortunately, nearly every home PC nowadays has a video card which supports hardware acceleration. In hardware mode, a lot of the complex tasks are done by specialized hardware on the video card, which frees up the CPU to do other things. This can result in a dramatic increase in speed.
    <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    What is the exact error you are getting, and what specs (graphics/cpu/ram basics and mouse make and model) are your friend's PC?
