That situation is terrible. I have never personally encountered such hatred. Though I am straight, a whole lot of my friends are bi (and a few are lesbians), and none of them has ever had to put up with this kind of abuse at home, or even at school. Maybe this is because they tend to stick together, but DAMN. I had no idea it was that bad for so many. Guess I'll be more sympathetic now, but I'm still using **** as a derogatory term. Why? Because even the homosexual folks I know in real life use it in that way. Of course, they are also stoner punks.

While scientific evidence exists to prove that *** are different then straights psychologically, I'm pretty sure the theory that someone can truly be bisexual has been shot down, not withstanding transgender cases.

Two questions (apologies if this counts as thread derailment):

How did that theory get 'shot down', and what is 'truly bisexual'?

On the same note, what does that have to do with transgenders? That's simply an incongruency of gender and birth sex (not inc. intersexed and such, since that seems to generally be included under the TS/TG label), and I see no reason why they would be a special case.

Gemma, that's funny because here, we have "**** Andy," "fruity Andy" (who is straight), and "crossdressing Andy" (who is also straight).

Reasa, if you do not care, do not post in this thread. We do not need your asinine comments on a serious matter like this.

There is no evidence to 'shoot down' bisexuality. The study simply gauged 'aroused' and 'not aroused' when looking at same-sex videos. They did not record 'double hits' at the same time.. though the one or two that did recorded them as 'straight', for the positive hit on opposite-sex arousal.

CPS is definitely the way to go. You can call them and give an anonymous tip, so long as you mention any injuries that he showed up to school with. We actually had a visit from them about my little sister, who is a tomboy.. while they were there, she ended up tripping into a tree and giving herself a black eye, but was perfectly cheerful about it. They left, in our case.

With all due respect, that's nonsense.

A large portion of America doesn’t like **** people, and I can see where they are coming from sometimes.

I think the problem is when these people think about homosexuals they automatically jump to the extreme such as the **** Pride parade. These people annoy me too and anyone who knows where I stand knows I have no problem with ***.

I can only imagine the uproar that would be created if people tried to have a Straight Pride parade.

Just because I don’t care about some random kid whom I don’t even know exists dose not mean I have nothing to say on the subject of homosexuality.

Heck, if you think a straight pride parade would have trouble, try a german pride parade.

I found out this summer that one oldest friends was a homosexual. To most people it wasn't a surprise he was kinda the femi-kid in school. I was surprised even though my better instincts told me I shouldn't be. As for things between us, nothing has changed really, he's still the same old Scott that he's ever been ("Except now he watches a different type of porn", yep there's your Big Daddy reference for this thread). It took his devout Catholic parents time to accept it but they have, I really doubt they went to the lengths that your friend's **** of a mom seems to be going, but yeah the whole parent thing isn't an easy factor. Just be a good friend, don't let things change between you, you weren't a homosexual or attracted to him before or now so there really shouldn't be any kind of change in your social dealings with him. That's the advice I can give, hope it helps.

ummm, german activeties are normal (at least here in NYC)

The reason why a 'straight pride' parade would be concidered to be in bad taste is that it would be viewed as anti g4y.

g4y pride is not anti straight, just pro g4y.

Kinda like a 'white pride' gathering generaly conotate klan activity.

meh, I still think you should just sit down and talk with the dude.

tell him you know he is ****, and that you don't give a rats arse about his sexual orientation.

just that he is your friend.

and yus, yall that wana flame/be anoying. Take it to discussion.

/me pulls the derailed thread back on topic.

BulletHead, regardless of if your friend is under 18 or not he's in danger by staying at that house. I mean what if his mom gets really, really mad? That could turn into a life threatening situation. :(

If he has nowhere to go, perhaps you can find a friend who can accomodate him if you cannot. He needs somewhere else to stay asap.

And as far as how to tell him that you know and etc. I think you should listen to the people who've already posted that have firsthand experience on the matter (either on the giving or recieving end) as they have the best viewpoint.
