    "I imagine this is relatively close to real life. Time for electric charge propagation and nerve synapse induction means that your brian doesn't know you've been woudned for some time after the injury,. Barring major CNS disruption by the fatal injury, the moment you realize you have fatally wounded is quite a few milliseconds, maybe some whole seconds, later than when you were actually wounded. Your momentum at the time of injury might even carry you some distance from the location where you were wounded."

    Firstly; A body can function at regular rates for hours after a fatal blow has bean dealt if the subject is unnaware of its being there.

    Secondly; due to the nature of bullets - (50/10 round clips) or a blast of buckshot (which is only worth firing if les than 30 meters is between target/SG) - the sheer power of the blast would not only dislodge legs (yes, which means the skulk goes sliding UNCONSCIOUSLY 'smackbam' into a goddamned wall!!!) but the blast would have enough stopping power to send the poor thing across the room!!!

    Have you ever shot a rabbit with a .303 before? i would imagine it to have the same effect as a shotgun to a skulk/lerk/fade

    In the same way that a cartoon character doesn't fall down the 1000 foot ravine if he's not aware that he's ran past the edge!?

    You know human nature, I would assume the pretending-you-aren't-wounded thing would work much better with males than females.. only on the masters of lying to ourselves basis. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I've witnessed it a few times. Even someone hiding around a corner, a marine is able to still kill them despite that corner being there. The alien wasn't even moving.

    Also, I've often flown around a corner and am completely out of distance, but I still somehow die. I wasn't even near the corner.

    Today, I witnessed a marine able to fire through the floor and killing the aliens in the vent shafts below him....despite there being no visibility between the aliens and the marine....and no entrance to that shaft except for a room away.

    There "are" exploit/hacks out there. It's not always a bad netcode. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
    no
    The most you can do when it comes to shooting through walls is firing/biting through very thin walls/glass/etc. A good example is the siege room for equil on ns_lost. A skulk biting through it can be shot on the other side by a marine.

    A shotgun would most certainly not send a skulk flying across the room if NS was somehow real. Unless the skulk weighed like 2 pounds, he'd probably move a few inches back and that's it. People flying backwards when they get shot is hollywood bs.
    Oh, and you should know better than to use the word "clip".

    You guys shoulda done NS on the Unreal engine. we wouldnt have to worry about hitboxes, netcode, high entiry speeds, nothing.

    shed a tear when i hear the news that NS was moving to source. Source, while an excellent physic's engine, has already been surpassed as a graphical one. while we have yet to see what source can really do, what ive seen so far disturbs me. i believe that all the bugs that plague ns now will still plauge her in source. unreal 3 looks so god damn good.

    anyways. hl netcode ftl.

    lol, I think you're missing the key word here: fatal. Fatality means immanent death. Fatal blow means damage which is done that will cause immanent death. This of course implies immanent and present death (yes cancer is immanently fatal, but not presently fatal). Thus one can conlude a fatal *blow* would INHIBIT the normal and proper functioning of a body for all but, at most, 20 minutes (not several hours).
