<div class="IPBDescription">It's back!</div> My old thread was far to old to bump for another batch of pictures, so i've decided to make a new thread. This originally was supposed to be a squad of Combine Soldiers hunting down some remnants of a rebel gang, but then i said to myself: "hey, this has great potential!" so i made this into a sort of furious battle raging on by the docks in de_port.I think i went a bit overkill on the blood spurts, but i freaking hate sprites so i just used some emitters.     I have to hand it to you, you've got two things going for you.

    1.) You get better with every attempt.

    2.) You're persistent.

    Keep it up, pretty soon you'll have some Grade A original material, the kind of stuff you could post on the GMOD forums and actually be elbow to elbow with the guys who did "EAT MAN" and "Last Supper".

    Cold Nite seems to be using his new keyboard of +10 harshness +6 sarcasm -20 subtlety (I MAEK CRAP GAMING REFERENCE I AM COMEDIC GENIUS).

    Anyway, it's a nice scene. The only thing that bothers me is that it's the same thing shot from many angles. That always annoys me, it's too noticable, especially with that many shots. Try and find one or two really good angles from one setup, then change the things, and redo it.

    No he seriously is getting better, I think so at least, no BS on this, that's how I see it. I probably botched it up, but that's some sort of story right, if you string it together? The way I saw it, that canister you see in the last picture is something important, (as opposed to being just spare health or something) and they were protecting it from the combine?

    Or am I misinterpreting it?

    the "canister" there is just a medical tidbit from a medic. Sorry, i forgot to post my explanations for this piccy. Look at the first post for the story.

    ::edit:: look at the fourth picture, from there you can see its a big battle, so this is just a scene of some of the action.

    Bump Time! I've tested out my new video card on Gmod and oh my god, ITS FREAKING AWESOME! I call this pose: "execution in the alley" it's a bit bland, but meeh.

    Get some Anti-Aliasing action going there - it really really makes the pictures look better. Also, avoid depth-of-field if you can - it sort of contradicts the whole purpose of the AA.

    Anti-aliasing (go to video options to enable it), blurs the edges of models, making them look very smooth and nice. Basically, blends the edges of the image together.
    What settings did you use for the Bloom effect, also? Make sure it's at least 2 (I think it's at 0/1 for one image). I could be wrong.

    Valve made it clear which antlions were female and which one were male. In comparison, antlions can be compared to a combination of peacocks and lions. *durrrr* I've make an assumption that the male is green colored and with yellow stripes, while the females are completely yellow.
    By the game standards, antlions would attack anything that was potentially aggresive or dangerous towards them whether Alien nor Human. I would also assume they would eat any sorts of birds for their diet is completely carnivirous. Their hunting patterns are much like lions for their targets would be stragglers, sick ones,weak ones,injured ones,or old ones. However, i believe that out of hunger they will eat anything dead or alive. They will not eat their comrades though,because for their survival they must stay together.
    Valve also made it certain that their anatomy was very unique. The back leg is the front, and the front is the back.Antlion groups are most of the time consisted of 4 antlions: 2 male 2 female. When a group has aquired a kill, they will like lions let the dominant male go first. After he is done, he will guard the rear and let the rest devour.I've also noticed that antlions will try to use their scythe-like limbs to cut open their kill and eat the innards first. And without any further wait, here are my field photographs. They seemed to like "feet". These are all posed.

    Some cool scenes you've got there, and I'd have to chime in with recommending you crank up AA and AF for maximum pretty.

    The 1st shot I think is really cool, the rest were pics of the same dude getting mauled in the same place so it isn't as cool, but it's still pretty cool.

    And Tychoo stopped haikuing because he got banned from an IRC channel or some shazz, there's a thread about it somewhere.
