<div class="IPBDescription">and I can't rescue her...</div> it's actually pretty funny. she told me she got e-mailed by someone who saw her resume on monster.com and wanted to invite her to a group interview for an 'account manager' position, which is odd since she said she was only looking for jobs in the publishing field. she read that she'd be making $60k a year, which is a lot for someone right out of college, so she went anyway.

she just arrived and called me from the parking lot, asking me to do a quick internet search to see if I could find out whether she was supposed to be there at 7 or 7:30. I googled them: Primerica. skimming the results, I saw a couple things that suggested it might be a scam, and I told her that. she said if they made her dress up and go all the way out there for a scam, she was gonna be mega ****. I told her I couldn't find any mention of a time for this particular 'open house' so she just went in...

since I got off the phone with her, I did more reading. it's an UBER scam - one of those things where you make money by signing more people up, to sign more people up, etc...

poor girl, she's having such a hard time finding a job and this is going to make her feel even MORE crappy. I hope she's not trapped in there for hours...

    I talked to her, and of course she thought the whole thing was 'fishy' even before I started pointing her to websites - but at the same time, they almost sucked her in, making it sound legit... they really have these things down to a science...

    she's just, of course, not gonna go for the 'follow-up'. I hope they don't spam call her.
