I have only read the 1st post...and you can say whatever you want, but the truth is :

    !!! EXPLOITING IS CHEATING !!!

In DoD I shot all xploiters I could see ( even the ones in my own team ) and I think I'll going to start this here, too.

Play the game as the programmers designed it to be played. It's just poor if you need such tricks to get a kill.

That's not an offense post to get the topic spammed, so just think about it..

If you want to complain about exploiting, make another spam post in the general forums please. This is a topic about movement in NS, and how important it is tactically, whether you consider anything to be exploitative or not.

An aside: if you're even at all curious, you should go look up the definition of exploit in a dictionary, because that was probably how the hackers (who presumably first adopted it) intended it to be used. Figuring out game physics in order to achieve maximum benefit from their application really is a "brilliant act," search google for "quake speedrunning" for examples.

    BAH

Please tell me this isn't going to turn into

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAH CEHATS SKULS CAENT DO TAHT CAEUS I CANT"

OK. To bring this back on topic-

Kent is 100% right. There's more than one level (aiming) to improve upon at any first person shooter, and movement is very important in NS and others as well.

Most people think "omg dood I can trace them so well i r teh shizz" and that's why the average alien game is lacking in a pub, and why good aliens who understand movement skill will destroy the average rine who does something as simple as "backstrafe; shoot." This will often leave the rine frustrated because the skulk didn't do something stupid like rush him running down a hallway or "ambush" him 40 feet above the doorway.

If moveing is just another important factor, along with such common ones as aiming, and thinking. To think you can play the game to the fullest because you're good at one of those is to lie to yourself. There's many other important factors, other than movement, but that would be thread jacking.

Still, brings up an excelent point- you've got to do more than aim to win.

Good movement includes considering the position of your team mates. If you’re in the front of a group try not to block their shots. If you behind a team mate change your position so you have free sight to the front and have enough space so you don’t block him if he jumps back. And so on.

Another fine move imho is not to jump back if a skulk attacks but to advance and try to dodge the first bite and get through so the skulk has to do a 180-turn. Especially if you have a team mate behind you the skulk ends up in the middle of two marines.
