Recent, New Drivers For Raedon 9800 Pro

3rd party or otherwise...
My computer is almost identical to my friends. We have basically the same of everything. His video card is slightly, slightly better and ever so slightly newer that my problems of lag in some instances can not be from that slight difference. Between 15 and 60 FPS on source, I'd really hope not to have to dump 800 bucks on something that came out a month after mine just to get that achievement.
I'm really hoping that its my video card's drivers. I'm not sure if I've got the most updated version and I cant find a newer one on the Ati site. So please, if anyone knows some third party drivers that are out there specifically for gaming with my card, link the download links so I can game in peace -- as well as smoothness -- again.

Counting down until somebody recommends the Omega drivers.
Three.
Two.
One.
I win! Actually, though, I don't use them. I've heard good things, but video card drivers seem important enough that I don't want to mess around with a 3rd party that has no liability (although it's not like I can whine much to ATi if they screw me over either...).
Edit: Curse you Obst, and curse my slightly less nimble fingers!
I'll try omega.
Someone care to explain what's different about them?
Click Drivers&Software.
Click Windows XP Drivers and Software.
Click RADEON.
Click CATALYST 5.7 Windows XP - Driver Download.
Replace Win XP with whatever OS you use.
:edit:
Wow, that filled up with posts rather quickly...

Catalyst vs. older Catalyst, or Omega vs. Catalyst? Either way, the formers in the pairs are supposed to be more optimized, streamlined, and have less bugs. I can't verify anything about Omegas since I don't have them, but I've heard great things about them.
well optimized seems good
I havn't tryed the Omegas with my New Radeon 9800 XT yet, I might just do that.
Personally, I would recommend installing the latest CCC version of the ATI drivers (Catalyst AI is awesome), and using this tweak guide to get the best performance.
Don't be afraid to do it yourself. You might want to search Google for "Driver Cleaner", though. It's not a really big deal if you screw up (assuming you didn't screw up with overclocking). Just (if possible), uninstall the ATI drivers from Add & Remove Programs, then reboot in Safe Mode, run Driver Cleaner and clean all of the ATI driver residue up. Then reboot and reinstall drivers.
