I really want to learn Char modelling because i want to move on from being able to sort of doing guns. Mechs is another thing i want to do, should i look into it on the ESF forums?

Al make a bigger render for u if u tell me ur screen res. I've been modeling for about a year now, started with milkshape and the csgirl tut then moved to max. Its not really hard to model characters, get some ref's and try it out. Just gotta focus on the deformation of the joints.

That tutorial isnt that good as he kind of moves on without telling you what has happened to it.
When he has set up the cylinder, gotten the basic shape of it. Then moving onto giving it more shape. Then he kind of misses a step as the pecks seem to get hugely better with lots of verties. Now did he mesh-smooth? Did he connect the edges loads and then decide to just move them out a bit?
My screen res is 1280x1024 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'd say that the face of the model is a bit childish - is there some way for you to make it less smooth and stuff?
And the... bootsoles or whatever seem a bit heavy when they're thick like that.
