it's hard to see the message in that screenshot...but it is actually giving fatality statistics....stating all civilians were dead and so on...

if you go to this page you can get the latest build of the map to play with...

EDIT - By the way, I was only gonna give ken the bsp to look at but you can all have a look if you so wish..

I like the new commander console room much better, im not too keen on the wall texture on the back wall tho, maybe change it. Although it does give a kind of rounded feel to it, hmm i dunno it acctually seems kinda cool, but at first look seems a little odd.
The strip lighting on the wall by the actual console is good, but it looks wrong the way it cuts into the ramp, maybe you could make a new texture exactally the same as the one with the light, but remove the light from the center and replace it with a metal panal, then the exact point the ramp starts to climb up use that texture on the wal. In my opinion it would be better.
Everything else looks cool

[Edit] almost forgot, for the first pic, maybe have a few small shadows up in the room, in the right angles. It seems to plain at the moment.

not sure I liek those 2 screens in the commander console, they seem like they're just floating in the air, and what's that white triangle on the ground to the left in the first pic?

To answer everyone's questions about the screens, white triangles, etc, d/l the map. It really is quite cool.

Heh... I'd better write a nice long response here then.

Hanz, I was going to mention something about a few extra shadows helping the place out too, but after running around in it, I see what you did with the wavering light in that room, and it really does come out nice. I don't think the lighting really needs to change much at all in that room. The pulsing really adds to the atmosphere nicely. Great job there.

That screen with the skeleton on it in the CR is a great touch. The other details in that room are really great too... Especially the computerish stuff behind the glass.

The windows are also a bit more nicely sized, even though I didn't really think they were bad before... It definately is an improvement.

The steam coming from the door was a bit more subtle then I expected, but I think it's better that way. An extremely nice touch.

Now for the criticism:

It could just be my setup, but I found it kind of hard to make out those fans inset in the wall across from the windows. I was thinking maybe a texture light would work out good in there, but then again, it might look a bit unatural or... "off". I don't know... might work. I just think that's a really cool detail, but is a bit hard to see.

While I like the design and details of the new CR much better, I think the ambience of the older one was a bit nicer. Maybe a somewhat deep colored accent in there would work out good. Be it a texture or a colored light, something to add some more visual contrast in there would probably have positive effects.

I'm sure you're aware of this, and I realize that this is certainly not finished, but I thought I'd point out that the lighting in the hallway leading down into the CR room (the orange one) is a tad bit too harsh. It's possible it's just my setup, but the lighting there doesn't blend in very smoothly.

-----

Again, this is really quite nice. I like the unique look you've got going here. Great job!

I still think that you should add some detail to the back wall of the command center where you have the bump texture now. And I liked the older window better. I feel that bigger is better in that case. And you definitely need to get a new sky if you're going to use a window like that.

I do like te other changes, though.
