If you have maps you would like to put up somewhere, send me a PM and I will put them here:

    <a href='http://fohguild.org/war3/maps/' target='_blank'>http://fohguild.org/war3/maps/</a>

Take a look, I put up a quick site for some maps.

Ahhh super cool guys. My only suggestion might be to rotate the maps so that they match the true in game orientation that commanders and marines will see in their maps.

Relic. I never saw anyone answer your question about getting the entities up so here it is.

mp_drawinvisibleentities - Entities are drawn for commander even when not visible by a team member

    I hope that helps you

Any chance of a white background version suitable for printing? I can fill the outside with white (in the black region) but the text is outlined in black, so it gimps the text...

    Tenaku,

Great maps, seems like ns_hera has a slight strangeness over Ventilation 3-C though. I looked in the same overview mode, and it looks like a crosshair.

I made this grayscale from Tenaku's photoshop files:

Reaper, you may want to put "Map by Tenaku, greyscaled by dr skipper" below the greyscaled maps on your site. As that takes all of 6 clicks on Tenaku's work. Sorry if I sound like an arse. Thank you for one site with all the maps.

Tenaku's map is right next to the grayscale version, and his name is on the actual map as well.

Here's the "less is more" overview I made of Eclipse. Comments?

Wolv, that looks nice, and suitable for printing, but it needs area labels, like "Engine Room" or whatever. Color coding the areas where the hives and marine spawns are, might also be helpful so they can be seen at a glance instead of referring to the icons. Great start though!

I decided to make my own set of maps, because I tend to be rather picky about things like this. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Here's the first one ... the rest should be done pretty quickly now that I've got the process down.

Wow... that's really well done and very useful. My overhead maps folder is filling to the brim!

One thing needed, maybe: weld points.

Oh, these maps are well spinkee!

Nice one to all involved, Keep 'em comin' aswell. :)

Bytor, great graphics, but could I make a request?

Could you change one of the colours for the Vents/Alien Hives please? Anyone who's colour blind (like me <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->) might get confused by the two.

Nice work everyone on this thread though!
  • BytorBytor Join Date: 2002-11-19 Member: 9323Members
Eeek ... it didn't even occur to me that I used (what I think are) the two worst colors for color-blind people! I chose those colors because the vents are generally red, and the hives are generally green (puke green, but green.)

However, since the shape of vents and hives are so very different from each other, is it really necessary for me to recolor them? I will if it truly does cause confusion, but I don't see how it can. I will be providing my photoshop layers files though, once I'm done, which will be this evening.

Fantastic! Thanks for the help in learning the maps! <!--emo&::sentry::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/turret.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='turret.gif'><!--endemo-->

Bytor, please make sure the orientation of your maps is the same as the marine/commander minimaps/views. Some of the other maps out there don't follow this and can be hard to use.

    Thanks for the great work!
  • BytorBytor Join Date: 2002-11-19 Member: 9323Members
Yup, I will be doing that. A couple of them need to be rotated to match the CC. I should have all of them done tonight. The only thing I'm not doing this time around is the weld points, because I haven't been playing long enough to know which doors and buttons and stuff can be welded. All I know about are the gratings with the bright orange marker.

If anyone can help me out with locating all weld points, that would be cool.

Just check out the other user-made maps, they'll show you the welds.

And Bytor, as a T2 player, let me say that you T2maps guys rock for providing such an invaluable database of maps for everyone. Your back's got my LMG (or spinfuzor, or acid spit) covering it if we ever run across each other in-game.

Hrmm ... I visited the URLs listed in this thread, and I only see 3 of the 7 maps which have the various objects labeled.

    Glad you like the T2 site. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    HI Bytor,

basically your map is nice work, but there is a passage missing. I included it, very crudely and not in scale, in the attached gif. I marked the points of action yellow. At the External Satellite Relay is a welding point. If you weld that, the Relay will overload and blast a whole in the wall (nice lightshow, try it in a quiet minute). A passage at the eastern end of the cul-de-sac is now open. At the end of that passage, shoot the wall on your left. It will make the HL-sounds of something breaking. After a few shoots, the wall will collapse and you have a nice shortcut to the hive at Satellite Communications.

I like the simpler maps that wolv and Bytor have put together. I like wolvs the most pecause it is Black and White with reduced detail. For printing out and for quick refrence the simple maps are much better
  • BytorBytor Join Date: 2002-11-19 Member: 9323Members
I've finished all seven maps, here's the link:

    <a href='http://www.tribes2maps.com/ns/' target='_blank'>http://www.tribes2maps.com/ns/</a>

You can view the maps online, or download them all in a zip file. I've also provided my photoshop files, with layers, for anyone that wants to tweak them. If you make new maps based on my files, I'd love to see them. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I haven't added weld points yet, since I don't want to do that until I have a complete list. If anyone has a way to find all weldable points on the maps, maybe with a console command, please contact me.

    this works on commander mode?
