It's an offspring of the Barret .50 cal sniper rifle... meant for em to use should they encounter close in targets... I think they forgot that the human arm can't withstand 5000 PSI of pressure being rammed into it... 0o;
I think that the most powerful pistol caliber ever made is the new S&W's 500 magnum, a little bit more than .454 casull. In a tactical situation, these calibers are usually not used because they are too slow.
I know that some pistols like the contender or the lone eagle are using calibers that are usually used for rifles.
