A 822lbs impactor/spacecraft will slam into tempel 1 tonight at 1:52 AM EDT.

The impactor was released from its flyby craft at 2:07 EDT this morning. The flyby craft will relay images from the impactor back to earth as well as capturing data and images from the ejected ice, dust, and gas.
