<div class="IPBDescription">being a victim of scripting prejudice</div> This is NOT intended to be a PRO or ANTI scripting thread. This is thread is only to put a spotlight on what only goes on in the dark corners of the community and game servers. I hope this thread wont baloon up to something negative. I am only sharing here..
I am a server admin for the <a href='http://www.iam-clan.com' target='_blank'>I AM</a> servers. As of recently someone had posted in the I AM community boards that I use "hacks". This person had carried some grudge with me and had posted some cvar stuff from demo recordings citing that it was evidence of me using hacks.
The <a href='http://www.iam-clan.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&p=67667#67667' target='_blank'>forum thread</a>
The "evidence"?

What that person didn't know was I had setinfo junk cvars written for fun, and [he] thought these were signs of an aimbot, wallhack, or god knows what else. The thread is open for all to see.
So.. I don't shy away from something I consider as a small hobby in the world of FPS games. I don't mind sharing what scripts I use, but this is evidence of scripting prejudice that untill this moment, I haven't seen first hand and only read about in the forums here.
I'm not trying to win any hearts by airing server drama on the official boards; <b>no</b>. I just wanted to share a prime example of script prejudice that I assume happens all the time.

On a side note, try setting your cl_updaterate a little higher - it could smooth out your gameplay.
Definately use a higher rate, cl_updaterate and cl_cmdrate if thats low aswell and you have a good connection.
And for the updaterate, everything _above_ 30 lags for me...
I know it has something to with a certain hack that's name is same
as the sound emitted when a fly is flying, but what the hell is it?

s4 pidge0n is a 'key' - a line of code that can be added to config files. A certain hack used to add s4 pidgeon to your config when the hack was run. However, that isn't the only way for a key to be added to a config. You can easily make your own keys like Mr.RadicalEd did (this is the 'proof' of his hacking). I know some people who added s4 pidge0n to their configs just to freak out nubby admins for grins and giggles.
it's a big competition
