That looks useful for me, though. My friend has just gone on a week-long trip, and I can't afford to call long-distance.
Hey, that's not true now it's happened to me it could happen to you.
I don't see much potential for abuse there, they'll disconnect you if you try to abuse it.

And think of the workers who have to deal with the annoying users. Why waste their time and their patience? It will just make them bitter and angry for the legitimate users.

All you will accomplish is annoying the operator and make them dislike their job that serves a very helpful purpose for those that really need the service.
For those of you who don't understand the real use...
Sprint Relay Online is for deaf, hard of hearing, and speech impaired people who cannot use the regular telephone. If they do not have a TTY machine, they can use SRO for free to make calls to the United States only. They have had to block international calls because of abuse and fraud. This is a great tool for them to use, so don't use it if you don't need it. The operators can tell if you are someone who is just fooling around with it.

I worked there for over a year... You are the reason that I quit, along with every other person like you. If you have a problem, deal with it in a mature way, otherwise you are just continuing the cycle of harrassment. Then you are no better than the people who did it to you.

Eh. I tried using a relay service once, and the operator disconnected me because I didn't know TTY lingo.
Do you have some guide to it, or something? I do have a legitimate use for it. I have trouble hearing human voices, and it's incredibly difficult over the phone because it's a mono output.

Life's too serious to take seriously
1. It does not do it automatically, the operator has to have some interaction.
2. Continous prank calling is restricting the calls that can be made, you used to be able to make international calls and save some money, now thanks to the abuse you can not.
3. Common sense plays a more important role then maturity in this case, which obviously some on here are lacking.

...sorry, I just get amused at people getting worked up over people who aren't even being serious.
if you want me to be serious too - I haven't even looked into it, but if this is a free service, it will be abused no matter how pretentiously and apoplectically you choose to post in this video game forum - and it will likely prove not economically viable and not last long. and if it costs money, then chances are it won't be much abused because not as many people will pay to mess with other people. In short, save your anger for something important.
You may not take it seriously, fine. Some people do. Get used to it!
However, I think you're missing the reason people are upset. I don't think people opposed to exploiting this service are focusing on the exploiting of the service only, but the general careless and immature attitude driving people to use the system improperly. That definitely is something about which to be upset, because it affects more than just the operator on the end of the line. Having the mindset that it's okay to cause chaos because it's "fun" is a sign of immaturity.
For once it would be nice to meet young people who aren't setting themselves up for regret about "their wild days of their youth". It would be refreshing to see a generation that doesn't get the urge to rebel for no reason. No, the reasons from the current generation aren't good enough.
Then again, what's worse is finding elderly folks who <b>don't</b> regret causing problems in their younger years.
So you see why people are, in your eyes, overreacting about the phone service? This is just one instance of the continued problem with the maturity of the current generation.
