The likliest way of getting a 'classic Classic' game together is to try to create some kind of event, as Bry did when he released the files. There have never been suitable 1.0 bots, I'm afraid.

we are planning to do single day events for 1.04 1.03 1.02 1.01 and even 1.0 and maybe 2.0.
we are just investigating all possible exploits and trying to close them to make sure they go smoothly. So if u want to play any of the classic versions of ns then dont worry we will hope tobe starting it within a few weeks

I can't wait. Myself, I never had the luxury of enjoying the 1st version releases of Natural Selection, but I can't wait

Bry is starting up some regular days/nights with 1.04 and 2.0 soon. Check the site and forums out at http://www.brywright.co.uk/

We're also going to start running the 1.04 plugins weekly on Tuesdays as well on our server, so you're welcome to check things out there.

I'll tell you straight up, don't bother with the first release 1.0.

Skip to 1.04 or 1.03, both nice versions

1.03 had the old style siege guns that destroyed any buildings in range automatically, no sighting required. 1.03 was the day of the HA.

1.04 was all about the JP.

Please Bry- no 1.00; the server perfomance was horrible, and with a few players, a stable ping is around 600ms.

To others- yes 1.04 was the most fun I (personally) had in NS, but only because it was a new game with a large (and at the time) friendly community. But you will tire of 1.xx very quickly, if you have played the latest release.

In 3.0, each side has 2 or 3 tactics to use, in 1.04 it's HMG+JP or wait for acid rocket-spamming 2-hive fades.

Although if I do see any 2.0 servers, I will join it, hog the command chair, and electrify the obs, armouy and IPs. Bugs ftw.

In 1.04, wasn't there a bug where you could get upgrades going on different structures (such as a1 upgrading on a turret, you still needed to have an arms lab though), or was that a different version?

Bry is aiming to work the problems out of the versions such as server performance etc. So we can play the version without lagging like a marine in a tummy of an Onos.

It doesnt have to be perfect, aslong as we play 1.04 again.. it worked fine then, so don't be spoild and play the game like it was supposed to
• VermillionVermillion Join Date: 2005-01-07 Member: 33615Members
roger that i will be playing aswell even though my ping will be a million, but to enjoy 1.04 again i'd take a bullet to play a real ns game again.
